Pen and Sable focuses on individual portfolios By Cindy Krischer Pen and Sable members concentrated on developing individual portfolios throughout this year. Some portfolios were entered into the Decem- ber Burdines Art Show and several banks and art galleries exhibited their works. Their first project of the year was the Cornupia of the Arts held at Vizcaya, November 8 and 9. We represented the visual arts through paintings, draw- ings and ceramics, stated lliana Perez, club presi- dent. Modern Dance and Drama sets were painted by Pen and Sable members. Tom Wyroba was a great help to us in developing our talents, stated Suzie Alvarez, club treasurer. Kwan members take part in many cultural activities By Pierre Dwyer Observation and contemplation were activities performed by all Kwan members. The club attend- ed various theatre performances throughout the year and held meetings once a month. Kwan organized a theatre party to see Hamlet at the Player's State Theatre in Coconut Grove on Novem- ber 26. Through Kwan, l was able to experience a wide variety of cultural activities, said Jan Weiss, vice-president. Other officers for the club were Ernie Lanza, presidentg Nlaryli Marcos, secretaryg and Dan Arango, Treasurer. Dr. Bert Moss was sponsor for the club. Kwan attempts to capture the various aspects of the cultural arts through plays, operas, museums, ballets and the like. As a first year Kwan member, l experienced the exhilaration of seeing the American Ballet Theatre, remarked member Nivaldo Quin- tana. Key Club members assist with Jerry Lewis Telethon By Bill Tedesco This past year Key Club brought pride and recognition to Coral Park by donating their time helping the community. Key Club members assisted in the Jerry Lewis Telethon, in the Af- terschool House, the American Cancer Society, and the Ronald McDonald House project. We've done great things and built a sense of responsibility in our members, stated President Dan Arango. With Dare to Influence as their theme, Key Club went to Daytona Beach for their annual con- vention. We Key Clubbers always put forth our best effort to look good among our peers, sputtered member Barbara Centeni. With Mr. Ted Hennis as their advisor, members achieved their goals, thus obtaining the recognition they truly deserved.
