Italian Club aides needy earthquake victims of Italy By Teresa Mykytka Italian Interest members had the opportunity to get closer to Italy this year. In the past, members only made contact with the culture by selling pizza and holding their banquet in an Italian restaurant. Members this year worked diligently in collecting clothing for the victims of an earthquake which devastated Southern Italy. We felt badly about what happen to those poor people, so we got together and decided to do something about it, stated Ginger Young, Italian In- terest member. With several active members, Italian Interest wasiinvolved in numerous school events. They participated in Halloween Happenings and had a float in the Homecoming parade. Italian ln- terest joined with Italian Honor Society for many of their fund raising events. Italian Interest seeks to unify all the foreign language interest groups in Coral Park and I think we have succeeded! con- cluded Ginger. I.C.C. brings presidents together to solve problems By Gabe Puello This year's president of Inter Club Council was Paula Schwartzman. I feel we accomplished a lot of things. It is also a good chance for the club presi- dents to get together and discuss their problems, said Paula. This year, like many others, l.C.C. sponsored such activities like Club Day and Halloween Hap- penings on October 25. l.C.C. sponsored the Club of the Month contest in which one service club, and one interest club were chosen each month for their outstanding achievements. On October 19, I.C.C. held a Leadership Day for club officers. i'I.eadership Day taught me a lot of things that I wasn't aware of, as a club president, I thought Leadership Day helped me greatly, said Miriam Ortega, president of Civinettes. The Inter Club Council has promoted unity and cooperation among all of Coral Park's clubs and honor societies, stated Ana Dopico, president of National Honor Society.
