President of Equestrian Lisette Montequin tries to recruit mem- bers for the new club during club day. Equestrian Club takes place in horse shows lat the Youth Fair By Teresa Mykytka Students interested in horses have reopened an equestrian club. The club was first chartered in 1970 and had lost it's members through the years. Under the direction on Robin Ford, they par- ticipated in various activities to regenerate interest for the group. The Equestrian Club has taken part in horse shows in the fall, riding clinics in the winter and at the Youth Fair. There were various fund raisers such as car washes in November and December and they participated in Halloween Happenings. The club had two goals. One of our goals this year was to produce our own horse show, com- mented Robin Ford, sponsor. We wanted to reopen this club to share our love for horses. Hopefully, we will remain strong, stated Soraya Valdes, vice president. English Honor Society helps students to study by tutoring By Teresa Mykytka English Honor provided tutoring during the school year for students in all grade levels. The members primarily helped juniors with English pro- jects such as research papers. ln addition to tutor- ing, the honor society published a multilingual literary magazine. This year, the English Honor Society stressed communication through the writ- ten word, explained President Marti Rosenberg. The honor society was instrumental in bringing both the practical qualities of the English language and the aesthetic qualities of English literature to Coral Park's student body. A favorite fund raising project of the honor society was selling used books. Members sold the books at Halloween Happenings and the flea market. The society also sold concessions at basketball games.
