Modern dancers entertain for many types of groups By: Maggie Cayon With the help of advisor and friend Mrs. Nancy Pickle Perez, Perfon'ning Modern Dance worked together all year to put together their performances. Besides their annual Winter and Spring shows, they also performed in several places. During February, the class attended the Southern District Convention of the American Alliance for Health, P.E., Recreation and Dance at Orlando. They were one of two high schools in the State of Florida invited. To raise funds needed for the trip, they sold ceramic candles for Christmas, wrapping paper, gifts and sponsored a dance-a-thon. The Performing Class is a very close-knit group because they spend so much time practicing together. The dancers are all very talented and each one has something, special to contribute, stated Mrs. Perez. l ln the Winter Show, lleana Machado and Danny Fresco stare into each others It Y? eyes while dancing in lnfatuation. 1 Modern Dance Norma Fernandez and Arleen Lopez perfoml their version of the song Hello from the Broadway hit Same Time Next Year.
