Confidence plays a A great part in the Lady Ram's victories BY ALlClA CORDOVA The Lady Rams returned this year with a strong infield squad which helped lead them to a winning season. Experienced players, such as Captains Amy Perez and Tammy Wunderly, played with skill and vitality, leading the team to several victories. We worked well together trying to make this year's team the best yet. We were all good friends and that helped a lot, stated Captain Amy Perez. Confidence played a great part in the Ladies' victories over some of the more competitive teams. 'Throughout the season we had to learn to stay psyched up for our games. lf we played against a tough team, our confidence enabled us to play tougher, commented Lisa Boyles. i'l'm proud of the fact that we did well. Swimmers get new coach gain inspiration and ability By Juan Cuervo At the beginning of the year the Coral Park swim team did not have a coach. Through the hard work and constant efforts of senior John Villate, the administration hired a swimming coach. Gene Welsh became the new swimming coach, and Bob Karl, assistant coach. Bob Karl has devoted his career to swim- ming. The good coaching of Karl enabled the swim team to have a successful year, stated John. l feel if we would have had a bigger team we would have had an even better record, stated Coach Karl. Some of this year's top swimmers were seniors John Villate, Mike Medina, Juan Cuervo and John Hardy.
