Track team compensates for lack of experience BY CINDY KRISCHER The girls' track was under the direction of Coach Kugler, Cross-Country coach and a second year coach for the team. Coach Kirkpatrick, a previous state winning track team coach was new to the team'this year. This years team was composed mostly of sophomores and juniors with very few seniors. Although the team was lacking in experience they compensated for it by their endurance, stated Jeannette Rodriguez. The team endured tough workouts. Their enjoyment of run- ning led to great participation which will build a foundation for future girls' track. CARDENAS This year's varsity baseball team was led by Bert Pascual, third basemang Eddie Miguelez, pitcherg Angel Gutierrez and Fred Pineda, outfieldersg and Ralph Gali, shortshop, who all played their last year for Coral Park. This season we had strong perfor- mances from our top three pitchers, stated Coach Luis Brande. The pitchers, Eddie Miguelez, Jorge Armas, and Orlando Pena were consistent and pitched well. Although inexperienced, our hitters did produce many timely hits at the plate, he continued. The varsity team ended its season with an impressive record of fifteen wins and nine losses.
