Longfellow Central faced arch-rival Edison at the Junior College Stadium and ended Edison's dominion over the games. The Raiders came to the game expecting a victory, but had to settle for a tie with Central. Edison scored early in the first quarter and led 7—0 through most of the game. Central Beach 6 The painful warrior famous for light, After a thousand victories, once foil’d, Is from the books of honour razed quite, And all the rest forgot for which he toil’d. Shakespeare Central traveled to Flamingo Stadium in Miami Beach, and was handed a 6—7 defeat. The Rockets scored early in the first quarter when they recovered a Tide fumble deep in Beach territory. Miami Beach scored the winning touchdown with 27 seconds left in the game. This was the first time the Tides had defeated the Rockets. Central had beaten Beach for the past four years, but the Tides revenged the 47—7 thrashing they received last year from Central.
