THE TAXPAYERS, whose consistent efforts on our behalf have given us the tools with which to build the future, THE TAXPAYERS, whose interest in that future has been the foundation of our true security, we dedicate this yearbook. May we fulfill your fondest dreams for us and may we some day continue your work and contribute as constructively for future genera- tions when we are TAXPAYERS. lt is thanks to you, THE TAXPAYERS, that we were able to launch ourselves with the motto: AD ASTRA -PER ASPERA - To the stars by hard work and aspirations. THOMAS F. LYNCH Principal During World War ll, there was a tremendous vocal fervor that Americans were engaged in a destructive catastrophe to preserve certain freedoms. Today, American youngsters must become personally qualified to accept freedom to think. Such a privilege presupposes the possession of knowledge fortified by sound reasoning. ln our present school atmosphere, every student has an opportunity to meet this challenge regardless of the courses pursued. Teachers, labora- tories, equipment, instructional materials and a library have been provided for your advantage-now and later. lt has been my privilege to initiate this school. l am grateful for the efforts of every person at Miami Central High School during our pioneer year. Flavor your entire school activities with SINCERITY. Intangible char- acteristics of value will always surpass the mere acquisition of facts. . Ad Astra Per Aspera Page Five
