To develop the student's initiative, judgment, and an attitude for accepting individual responsibility tor work done in the laboratory. To create a respect tor the work done in the machine tool and allied industries and to create a desire tor entrance into these industries. To present a variety of experience and problems to the student in order to develop his ability to cope with practical problems he will encounter when he becomes employed in the machine or allied industries.
