DIESEL ENGINES Diesel shop, a trade training program, was set up in the new comprehensive Miami Central High School September 8, 1959 with Mr. Josef Chapo, a licensed Diesel Engineer, as instructor. Difficulties encountered were Diesel shop plant set-up for good instructional sequential lay-out, parts, benches and storage space, and needed facilities to do educational shop training as indicated in our Diesel shop course outline. With students and shop instructor all understanding the true objective of the Diesel vocational training, the re-indoctri- nation of students to this new type program in a new school was found to be fairly simple. As our past graduating students have proved the worth of Diesel training both in industry and the armed forces our shop is proud to be chosen as one of the leaders in our new school. Foy Stone, Mr. Josepr Chapo, Charles Penny. Charles Russell, Mr. Josef Chapo, Stanley Gongaware, Larry Rytel. Louis Capaforte, Mr. Josef Chapo, Ray- mond Stewart.
