Swim Team is off to new beginning The 1977 Chiefs' Swimming Team was the smallest in six years. The boundary change affected the team badly. The Chiefs had a total of nine returning swim- mers from last year and six recruited this year on the team. True, they weren't victorious in most of their meets, but in an individual sport such as this one, they showed their abilities very well. In fact, they showed it so well, that over half of the team made the District Competitions. The leaders were seniors and captains, John Han- kins and John Hicks for the guys and Sharon DeSoto for the girls. Seniors John Hankins and Danny Kenny were most successful in helping the team by participat- ing in the diving part of the meets. 1 . Back Row- Lacinda Toms, Debbie Hicks, Coach John Turni seed.
