Beverly Friberg, Tangala Smith, Marisol Pizarro, Gina Davis, Kathy Rivers, Leila Toledo, Linda Palmer, Renee Dean, Kathy Hunter, Gina Cooper, Yolanda Youngblood. Sitting - Tangala Smith, Captain Kathy Rivers. Kneeling - Kathy Hunter, Gina Cooper, Linda Palmer. Standing - Marisol Pizarro, Secretary-Treasurer Gina Davis, Co-Captain Leila Toledo, Yolanda Youngblood, Renee Dean. It was a year of firsts for IV Cheerleaders. All members were rookies with no returning members from last year's squad, They were al- lowed to wear saddle shoes for the first time with their brand new uniforms, and they cheered for the varsity basketball team in a game against Norland. Ms, Beverly F1-iberg Spgngors IV Squad members were chosen by the varsity Cheerleaders, cheerleaders and faculty judges in November's try-outs. Hours of practice kept them busy as they prepared for the IV basketball season. A Christmas party highlighted the season, and members received cheerleader pendants as a surprise. A club for students who want to express their feelings through music and dance? Here at MCC? That's right, and it's the Modern Dance Club. In order to participate, students must be free spi- rited human beings, people able to enjoy and respond to the rhythm and meaning of the music. Club members hold car washes, bake sales and other activities to keep them to- gether financially. The club is active, but small.
