Capitol Hill tops Close-up visit Students from Dade County's Miami l group socialized while waiting for the buses. Carol City once again parti- cipated in the trip to Washington D.C. sponsored by Close-up Foundation. The group, Miami 1, included 24 students and 2 teachers from MCC and was one of the first INPQESQ? groups to experience IV Washington this year. This trip was highlighted by a two day tour of Capitol Hill. The visits included lunch in the Rayburn Building with Con- gressman Dante Fascell, a seminar with Congressman Claude Pepper in the House of Representatives, and a stop at the Old and New Senate Build- ings, where students were met by Senator Richard Stone and Lawton Chiles. At night the students were entertained with a dinner at the well-known Flagship Restaur- ant and watched a play at Ford's Theater. The trip came to an end on Friday night with a banquet and dance. Senator Ted Kennedy prepares to talk the people at the Sheraton Park Hotel. A speaker from the justice Department addressed Close-up students. -E' I I Close-up
