Never at Carol City has there been a IV as good as the '75 Iunior Varsity. With the no. 1 offense and defense in the county, the achievement was made possible. Defensive Captain Dwayne Burse was the leading hitter, while Offensive Captain Terry Daniels was the leading rusher. The IV Chiefs' hard-hitting de- fense was not scored on until the fourth quarter of the fourth game of the season. If the offense was not rushing the ball down oppo- nents' throats, they would throw long from the Wishbone to Kelvin jackson, a move usually good for a touchdown. The standout season marked Mike Fox's first year as Head IV Coach. This record could not have been achieved without him and the help of Coaches Jerry Lotito, jeff Paris, Larry Byrnes and Tony Zucco. 178 I IV Football Co-Captains Dwayne Burse and Terry Daniels join Coaches jeff Paris, Larry Bymes, Mike Fox and Jerry Lotito.

Season ends 8-2 for best-ever record '55 i --r When Coach Anderson talks, his team listens. Thirteen may be an unlucky number for some, but MCC's Chiefs refused to recognize this. Their 8-2 record, the result of individual effort and the team's Chief Pride , was the best in MCC's 13 year history. The Chiefs ended the season first in offense in Dade County, while Lorenzo Roan led the county with over 7 yards per carry. Defensively the Chiefs, throughout the sea- son ranked no. 1 and 2 in Dade, ended on top. The North Dade journal named Coach Ierry Anderson 1975's Coach of the Year , and Chief Pride was the slogan of coaches and team alike. Fred Nixon and Ion Bell led the individual honors when they were named by the Herald as 2 of the state's top 10 players. Lorenzo Roan made the All-County team, and Clar- ence Baker and Gary Parker were named All-City. In addition, Parker and Baker made the News' All-County team, as did Keith Francis, Reggie Ogburn. Vernon Wilder and David Ritchey were on the third team. Nixon was the third leading scorer in Dade, while Ogburn quarterbacked the journals team. In the journal, Parker, Roan, Baker, Francis, Ritchey and Wilder were named to the first on the second, as well as All-County and All-City. It was a record breaking year at MCC! iso 1 Football Carol City rushes out oft th heO
