After a 17 and 2 season last year, IV players moving up to Varsity, this year's JV Baseball team was almost entirely 10th graders. Israel Caraza and Nirol Posada returned from last year' s team and helped the squad with their outfield and pitching duties, as well as with their leadership abilities. West, Rowan lead Chiefs to victory HIAHI glAH1 QIAM1 MXAMJ glAM1 E1 'TH' Front row- Les Davis, john Iones, Ricky Hixon, Lester Patterson, Ken Reed, Angelo Thrower. Row 2 - Coach Gerald Lotito, Harry Rowan, Floyd West, Herman Lee, Anthony Brown, Iohn Swain, Rogers Brown, Coach jack Brady. The basketball Chiefs pro- vided loyal MCC fans with much excitement all through their winning season. Much of their success was due to an all- out effort by the seniors, espe- cially Floyd West and Harry Rowan. Une of the games that high- lighted the season was the 77-62 victory over Miami Springs that marked Coach lack Brady's 250 wins. Due to an excellent coaching staff and much teamwork, the '76 varsity Chiefs ended the season with a 14-10 record and a second place trophy in the Is- land City Christmas tourna- rnent Floyd West was named to the Miami News' second team and the Herald's third team while Harry Rowan made Honorable Mention on both. The Chiefs ended the season as runners-up in District 14AAAA after losing a close champif ship gar f Ciialeah Miami Lakes.
