Finalists in the state tournament, MCC's Women's water polo team ended the season with a 10-2 record and tied for fifth in Florida. The girls, whose play excelled all season, finished 9-1. Robin Castillo made the All-State team with Sharon De- Soto, Gina Sileo and Rose Castillo receiving All-State Hon- orable Mention. The girls' water polo team had its best season this year. With all returning players from last year, they spent many hours working toward the State tournament with many new plays and positions. Losing only to Hia-Miami Lakes in a tough game, the team missed playing in GMAC, but came back to play in the State tournament. They Won their first game with Palmetto but lost to Cooper City, eliminating them from the tournament. Next year's team shows even more potential because the team will only be losing four girls. With just two of the girls on the starting line-up leaving, the girls will have a promis- ing season. Water Polo I 133

The swimming Chiefs, led by the state tournament's Most Valuable Player Iohn Testa, ended the regu- lar season undefeated and swept through both the GMAC and state tournaments the same way. Mike Jackson, David Jaffe, Bob Henshaw, Brian Nelson, Russell Hand, jim O'Neill and john Testa, the entire starting lineup, were named to the 10 player All-State team.
