Are also planning their Annual Symphonic Band Concert in May .... Fifty members compose the Symphonic Band .... fortyffive, the Marching Band .... Outstanding musical stars holding Solo Chairs are: cor- net, Howard Hilnerg clarinet, Elizabeth Diveleyg flute, Mary jane Critchfieldg horn, june Flotog saxophone, Mary Cordrey, trombone, Paul Long, bass, Dale Landis, baritone, Andrew Gatesg drum, Edward Diveley .... Last, but not least, the most conspicuous members of our Marching Band, our one and only drum-major, Dick Diver, and our two majorettes, Jo Darrah and Audrey Sperry. Page 30

Kemp, F.: I het l know why you made so many touchdowns. You thought you were holding Margie in your arms instead of our foothall. B. Walker, R.: Last hut not least, we have a hoxer on our team. Wenzel ....... center The games with Shade, Berlin, Boswell, and Grantsville convinced us of two things. First, it proves that the boys can play when they have a student body, back of them cheering. Second, it proved that Hschool spirit is not dead in M. l-l. S. . .just napping for several months. We've actually seen several hundred people wild with excitement. Students, teachers, parents, and friends yelled, cheered and stamped their feet .... and they did it as if they meant it. We haven't won many games, but they have been games well played. With such Hfirstu stringmen as Long, Kemp, Reich, Pfeiffer and Reiber, .... just Sophomores, our hopes for the next two years are sky-high. Page 31
