Stunning the Seniona ot 41 1937-38 As a Freshman in Meyersdale high school, you spent most of your time trying to adjust yourself to a new curriculum and way of life. You were solely interested in convincing the world that you weren't nearly so dumb as you were supposed to be and only half as dumb as you looked. Most Embarrassing Moment-When Betty Ringler called on you in assembly on Move-up-day to stand and take a bow. 1938-39 During your sophomore year in high school, you were batting your brains out trying to understand Biology, which you passed by the skin of your teeth and the teacher's big heart. Most Exciting Moment-During the Meyersdale-Somerset football game, when Meyersdale beat Somerset for the first time in 13 years. 1939-40 You were relieved to be out of the lower brackets and able to scoff the lowly freshmen, but you were having troubles ofyour own with Plane Geometry, because you couldn't remember that the shortest point between two straight lines is a round distance. Most Thrilling Moment-Wlmen you and your sweetie marched together in the Grand March at the junior prom, under a cool, calculating eye and much nodding of the heads of the chaperons. 1940-41 How can teachers be so mean? And to think that you used to get a B once in a while! However, you were glad to realize that you were so far superior to all the rest of mankind as far as students are concerned. Moment of Greatest Suspense-When you get out the microscope to look for the signatures on that diploma I-Dick Bolden, President The Power's o'er the Stars CSenior Class officersl.
