THIS PEP K ONE MAD NIGHT' One Mad Night , a mystery farce by james Reach was presented at the Pinto Auditorium on liriday evening, May 19th before an audience dis- appointly small to enjoy such a fine thriller. Wliile the cast was largely made up of new-comers to the Mexico stage, the cast under the direction of Mrs. Isbester, turned in a first-rate Performance. The all in one mad, crazy night. Don Cutter, a playwright, QVictor Mortensenj accom- by Wing, his proverb-quoting Chinese action of the entire play was continuous, young panied valet, Qlzarl Hamnerj goes to a deserted, lonely house in the hills to find peace and quivt Wl1CFC he can complete his latest play. He finds the house, however, tenanted by a number of very strange people. including john Alden, who hunts lndians, fStanley Poganyj. Priscilla, who knits, Qliertie jamsonj, Mr. Hyde, the ferocious man, fSchurman Bragdonj, and Lady Macbeth, a victim of Shakespeare, fGlenyce Swanj. They are lunatics, under the care of Dr. Bunn, fAlton Hutchinsonj whose home nearby has been burned. Although they are really cluite harmless, Don W PINTEXICQ FAIR-193 8 P.-Xl-li Txx i2N'i'v-Tnmzia 1 1 ' Qi i it doesnt know this, and he falls in love with Lucille, Qfxlthea Enmanj, and is about to free her from persecution when his previous fiancee fGertrude Royj and her mother fliarbara jonesy put in an embarrassing appearance with their maid, Depression Uosephine Lipskie.j The other characters, Mrs Kluck, the house- keeper, QRose Buccinijg Artemus Burke, the villianous lawyer, fRoland Lufkinj, and Danny Siletto, XVanted for murder fArthur xX,llllillT1Sj keep the kettle boiling with funny and thrilling situations. Barbara X5C'eatherhead was the othcial prompter and in charge of properties, while Vililliam Robertson was the stage manager. M. H. S. BAND The high school band gave an excellent ptr- formance this spring at the Vifestern Maine Music Festival, rating very high in the drill, marching and auditions which were part of thc activities at Auburn on Saturday, May 13th. Patricia Fogarty, the new drum major who is only a freshman, received a rating of the first degree. Class C music was used this year and I .--.
