LASS PROPHECY It IS the year 1977 the setting lS the ' azy Acres rest home run by Frances Lewis and Evelyn Johnson We see a retlred school teacher Elvin H Pierce strolhng across the lawn He stops to chat with the new gardner John Sawyer He s almost run over by that speedy paper boy B111 h1t um every time Carp on his 1960 model jet propelled trlcycle invented by Herb Mullen As Mr Pierce picks up the paper the headlme Ronald Green Newly Appointed Ambassador catches his eye Not1c1ng the name of a former student he reads on As he reads the front page he discovers that the lnterplanetary sclentists Doris Chorley and John Schenck proved that the moon 1S really made of green cheese Art Smlth and Anna Gamble made the trip to the moon for the mformatxon needed in the Bristol Boys iRoger and Warrenl rocket ship Mr P1erce also reads of the lnvestlgation of a robbery at the Moore Sawyer filling statlon iowned by Bob and Gay? Dick Jones was tending the station at the time Our reporter on the scene Phyllis LHIKIII stated that the investlgatlng officers Sgt Walt Hanlon and rooky Ralph Larkin found no clues For cur1os1ty s sake he leafs through the rest of the paper to see if he recogn1zes any more names On the editorlal pages he sees that Beverly Salley has been newly appointed editor of Fones president of the G I P Labor Umon appomted Charmaine Morton as the new treasurer Last but not least he reads that Alan Sheldon has been appomted by the first lady President Joanne Stowell to be good w1ll ambassador to the Kenya Colony Next he reads the sports page and sees that Edna Sampson and Aprll Raymond won the tennis smgles 1n the last local match Fred Davies Eddle Albright Chuck Feeney DICK Yablonski Donn1e Rfobarge and Gary Schlpper were among the Olympic wmners in the basketball tourna ment Seymour Smlth and Jack Ramsey are representing the U S 1n the all star swimming festival 1n Sidney Australia He also learns that Bob Redhead IS now a track star' The soclety page proves really lnterestingl One of the outstand1ng social events of the past week was the engagement party for Helen Gr1ITlng thrown by Pearl Kiesenger and Pearl Sklllnskl The caterers for the affalr were Margaret Bateman Judy Baumgartner and E1leen Blair Under Whos New he discovers that Barb Harvey IS the proud owner of Madame F1 F1 6 of the Gary Williams Kennels Incidently Gary has won many awards for owning the only dog w1th a naturally curly tall Betty Fellers Mary Sachel and Alice Ann Parthemore spent the week in Niagara Falls vacationing They were privileged to see Teddy Bond gomg over the falls ln a barrel Bonnie Hessler and Betty Holbrook took thexr Brownie troop to the woods for a camp out last week Sally Preman dean of the SLP Business School has named June Henry June Howard Eleanor Purdy and Sharon Mack to the deans list Joyce Wilmer business manager for Sharon Conrad and Sandra Lunman has Just announced the return of these girls from a world Wlde musxcal tour Dave Whltney has Just opened another branch of Browns Beans Members new here are Lyle Cronk Nelson Baratler Ralph Ruehl Steve Nicholas and Steve Yablonski Karen Woodruff and Charlene Meeks are happy to be employed as head dieticlan and nurse respect1ve1y ln the new hospltal of this c1ty He now reads of the opening of a retailing concern owned by Cynthla GlbbS Phyllis Lord was lucky in w1nn1ng a tr1p to Germany as a prize for being the Iirst customer 28 ' ' 2 if 1 f N- ' Q -1 . .
