Class Hlstory In the fall of 1952 we entered our Freshman year We elected Rlchard Blackburn as our class presldent Madehne Emery Fran Sawyer Shirley Rose and Duane Wilson as aides Many of the members of our class par 1c1pated in band and chorus wnth Linda Chubb representing us IH Pulaski All State Band and Rlchard Blackburn in All State Chorus Linda Chubb earned a place as JV oheerleader Our athletes both boys and g1rls part1c1pated ln intramurals and Freshman boys basketball Carol Sherman Re ggle Mayne R1ckySpr1ggs Barbara Stone Robert Keller Judy Roop Connie Aasberg B111 Dumas Madellne Emery Katy Feeney George G1bbs and Susan Gray played roles 1n the one act play contest with our play The Teachers Pet under the dlrecftlon of Mr Warren Petty We were represented in the Math Tournament by Ga1l Kenyon Susan Gray and J1m Mltohell Our Sophomore year began in the fall of 1953 As we advanced to the Semor hall we elected Carol Sherman as our class pres1dent wnth B111 Dumas Darlene Run1ons Fran Alder Gay Sawyer J1m Mitchell and Carl Farrell as other ofhcers Carol Sherman received the Art Award Linda Chubb was elected capta1n of the JV cheerleaders and Carol Sherman and Darlene Runlons Jo1ned the squad We held our iiflrst dance the Fall Frollc in November Llnda Chubb represented us ln the All State Band and Ian Wllkms and R.1cky Spriggs ln chorus Our dramatlc presentation for the one act play contest was Utter Relaxation which won first prize In the cast were Reggie Mayne B111 Dumas Ricky Spr1ggs Katy Feeney Susan Gray and Carol Sher man Our director was Mr Cllfford Pasquale We were represented at -the Sclence Congress by Rlcky Spr1ggs Data Blunt Suzetite Stoutenger and Darlene Runions At the beginnmg of our Junior year we elected George Gibbs as president wlth B111 Dumas Carl Farrell Fran Sawyer and Susan Gray as asslstants Many members of the class part1c1pated 1n band and chorus with Ricky Spriggs represenftmg us in State All State Chorus with Floyd Blalr George Gibbs Ian Wilkins B111 Matson Shirley Gillett and Rxcky Spr1ggs 1n All State Chorus Nancy Ramsey Darlene Runlons Katy Feeney Data Blunt and Llnda Chubb part1c1pat1ng 1n State All State Pr1ze Speaking contestants were Katy Feeney Rlcky Spr1ggs and Wanda W1se Lorralne France and Darlene Runlons Members of the Honor Society were Jim M1tchell Susan Gray Fran Sawyer Shlrley Glllett Gall Kenyon and Katy Feeney Varsity Cheer leaders were Lmda Chubb Captain Katy Feeney and Darlene Rumons George Gibbs and Carol Sherman were K1n1g and Queen of fthe J unlor Prom Our one act play entry was entitled Squarlng It With 'I1he Boss starring Katy Feeney Reggie Mayne Barbara Stone Carl Farrell B111 Dumas and Susan Gray Our director was Miss Dons Wade In our final year as Seniors we elected Fran Sawyer as pres1dent w1th Susan Gray Eleanor Mmckler and Darlene Runionss as a1des Our class play was Time Out For Glnger under the directxon of Mr Elvm Pierce Roles were played by Ian Wilkins Carol Sherman Darlene Run lons Lmda Chubb Katy Feeney Susan Gray B111 Dumas George G1bbs Fran Sawyer and B111 Matson Susan Gray Katy Feeney and Ricky Spr1ggs were contestants in the prlze speaklng oontest wnth Susan Gray taklng first place Our class was represented in both chorus and band by several members of the class Our class sold S9 198 90 worth of magazme subscripmons with salesmanshap trophies presented to George G1bbs Katy Feeney Wanda WISE Leona Sherman Rlcky Spr1ggs Darlene Runions Nancy Searles Susan Gray Caro McAuslan Carol Sherman Sheila Forster Marlon Jerrett Duane Wllson Linda Chubb Gall Kenyon and Connie Aasberg We spon sored the Football Dance Donkey Basketball Faoulty Student Game Spaghettl Dance Revew and the Mexicoman Honor Society members were Fran Sawyer Gail Kenyon Susan Gray Katy Feeney Shnrey Glllett Jim Mitchell Lorralne France Connie Aasberg and Lmda Chubb Cheer leaders were Linda Chubb Katy Feeney iCaptalnJ and Darlene Runions We were well repres ented in al lsports Gold Keys for artistic ab1l1ty were received by Carol Sherman Lorraine France and Connie Aasberg W11111 an assembly and our Senior Ball we bade our final adleu As we finished our school days here at MACS w1th commencement exerc1s es and a semor trip to Washington we look back and remember all the happy times we shared together and we hope the good times we had will be passed on to our posterity Wanda M Wise 21 O .
