Through the pages of this annual the Class of 1955 greets its STAINLFY STFVF 'NS VALHMCTORY During the past tvnelxe years we of thc Senior class haxe been going through a period of preparation to malce us better qualihed for the tasks vxell haxe to cope with in our later life With our high school career nearing its end me find ourselyes reminiscing trying to recall our most memorable experiences these uc haxe put into this annual Since this is our last opportunity to express our gratitude we vtish to thank the Board of Education the faculty our parents and friends who haxe better equipped us mentally and physically to enter the viorld of competition If in any may me haxe failed to meet the set goal it is entirely our own fault and not the fault of this institution As long as me shall lne we shall remember our Alma Mater and the days spent here Q3 SALUTATORY ol many actiy ities that this is a liberal school Therc has been much argument and debating about the xalue of the progressne or liberal school TS opposed to the vuorth of the so called regular school In the regular school the curriculum actmties thoughts and general the whole school life of the student is controlled by thc faculty and an intricate maze of rules and regulations The liberal school such as Mexico Academy and Central School gnes the students a choice He himself may select many ot the subyects for his curriculum He alone decides vuhether or not he shall try out for a yarsity sport participate rn student government or help to produce school publications The function of the faculty is to impress the student with the adxantages and disadxantages of the xarious choices True the student often malces a wrong choice but it is to the adyantage of the student and society that he malces his errors novi rather than later on in his life A student who has been experienced in making choices is a better citizen DONIALD HANILIN 1 I ' y .
