a Senior Class History Four years ago .twenty of us entered the Cardinal Family of M.H. S. with no antici- pation of what would become of us. Officers were elected as follows: President, Chuck Edmondsg Vice-President, Janet Willsong Secretary and Treasurer, Mike Wester- hold: and Reporter, Judith Petty. Our sponsor that year was Mrs. McGill. Then came the 'never to be forgotten' great day of initiation, which made us full- fledged Car- dinals. We entertained the Sophomores with a party in the Spring. Our King and Queen candidates were not crowned, but came in First Runner- Up. Twenty Cardinals were there the second year with more pep and vitality and ready for our upward climb. We were unfortunate to lose three members of our class, but were happy to gain three other members. Brenda Rynard was elected President, with Vice-President, Janet Willsong Secretary, Richard Coleg Treasurer, Mike Westerholdg and Reporter, Judith Petty. 'For our King and Queen candidates we chose Judith Petty and Chuck Edmonds. We failed in having our candidates crowned, but again we came in First Runner-Up. The class sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Butler. We initiated the Freshmen, and were treated to a party in the Spring by the New Cardinals. The third year eighteen members returned to us in a more dignified manner. The new officers included President, Chuck Edmondsg Vice-President, Mike Westerholdg Secretary, Judy Hawksg and Treasurer, Kathy Wilson. Mr. Nichols and Mr. Pruitt were chosen as our sponsors. The Junior class play gave us funds for the Junior-Senior Prom. We also sold magazines to raise money.. This year we chose Judy Hawks and Eddie Baze as our King and Queen candidates and were successful in having our candidates crowned King and Queen of the Cardinal Family. We also received our class rings in which we were very well pleased. ' This year we appeared as the dignified Seniors with a group of eighteen. We elected the following officers: President, Kenny Tourtillottg Vice-President, Richard Coleg Secretary, Mike Westerhold: and Treasurer, Chuck Edmonds. Our sponsors were Mr. Sparks and Mr. Pruitt. Our King and Queen candidates were Brenda Rynard and ' Bill Baker, and again weresuccessful in having our King and Queen crowned. We were now the leaders of the Cardinals of M.H.S. and we were ready to tackle anything and everything. Our Senior year was an exciting year packed with work and play. Our play Lend Me Your Mink was a great success. The taking of pictures, sneak day, and theptrip. Our being guests of the Junior7Senior Prom, Baccalaureate. and finally commencement has made our Senior year, A1 Year to Remember.
