The 10 year reunion of the class of '65. That nutty bunch of scholars turned out to be one of the most distinguished and sophisticated groups ever to pass through the doors of ole M. H.S. , p Ronnie Ringo Reed could hardly get through the crowd that waited outside for him. He's now -the lead drummer for that famous rock 'n roll combo, The Messy Metz Maniacs Their latest recording, I-Iickie Time , is well over the million mark. Roger Hamlet Wikoff has also achieved world recognition. Of all things he is a great Shakespearian actor. He became interested in Shakespeare while studying English Literature back in high school. The Honorable Jeanie Welch became the first member of the so-called weaker sex to become Governor of the great state of Missouri. This girl, who was voted most likely to succeed back in high school, is now considering running for President in the next election. Remember the old Metz Cafe? Well, Morris The Chef Mulkins turned that one little restaurant into the biggest chain of eating establishments in the U.S.A. Their specialty is the famous Mulkins Burger that contains 1f2lb. of monkey meat in each sandwich. T The current first lady of the U. S. is not other than the former Miss Janie Barbour who has created the biggest sensation since Jackie Kennedy appeared on the Washington scene. The President of our country Uanie's husbandj is the distinguished Rutherford von Ebert Snodgrass III. Philip The Shiek Minor didn't stay long in the United States. He moved to India soon after graduation. He's now the Rajha of the Mohave. His harem consists of approximately 100 wives Qgive or take a few.j There was one guy there I just couldn't figure out. He had a little beard, spoke with a French accent, and acted like some kind of a nut. It turned out.to be, of all people, Gary Van Gogh Headrick. He 's a great artist and his paintings sell for thou- sands of dollars each., His latest modern painting, The Thoughts of a Girl in a Topless Bathing Suit , is the talk of the art-world. Ever try to buy a BSLP original? They cost gfor-tunes! Mademoiselles Mae Burchell and Sandy Phillips of Paris, have teamed up to become the two foremost fashion designers in the world. They are especially noted for their itty-bitty bikinis. wi'Vi': l .1-211-5 -.vtfffw F' mg - ,gg V ,- .

As we assemble in study hall, our minds wander over the sweet thoughts of all the injustices and abuses that the upper classmen promise we will receive. We received most of them at initiation. Mr. Sivils gave us the traditional message, instructed us to select our courses, and we were on our way. Somehow, we made it through the Freshman year. Our Officers were Pres. James Dark, Vice-Pres. Jerry Henry, Sec. Sc Treas. Beverly May, and Rep. Jeanie Welch. Mr. Hart was our sponsor. There were 26 in our class. September 3, 1962. At last we were Freshmen no more, now we're silly Sopho- rnores. The one big event of the year was, of course, initiating the new Freshmen, which we did with much zeal. Leading our group were Pres. Jim Lyons, Vice-Pres. Rodger Wikoff, Sec. 85 Treas. Jeanie Welch, and Rep. Sandy Phillips. Mr. Yoder sponsored us. This year there were only 20 in our class. September 2, 1963. We ,are now Juniors. We could not get our class rings, which we all wanted very much. We were all proud of them when we finally received them. We also had the privilege of treating the Seniors to a two-day trip at Kal-Fran Lodge in the Osage Beach area. Ronnie Reed was Pres. , Larry Boyd was Vice-Pres., Jeanie Welch was again Sec. 8a Treas. , and Beverly May was Rep. Our sponsor was Mr. Brock. There were 21 in our class. ' August 31, 1964. Again we climbed the stairs in twos and threes, but this time we're the pro's, the privileged, and on top of the hill. Most of us shake our heads dizzily, wondering just where the last 3- years went, and so quickly. We are all con- fident of passing, if the teachers will all be understanding enough. The year is so full of events there is scarcely enough time for classes. On our Skip Day, we shopped at the Mall, went to the American Royal in the afternoon, and that evening we went to see the Cinerama production, It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World , although most of us were already becoming aware of this fact. Our Sr. play is entitled lf Mother Only Knew , which we hope is a success. The Juniors plan to take us to Rockaway Beach for the Jr. -Sr. Trip. Our class officers are Pres. Jerry Henry, Vice-Pres. Roger Wikoff, Sec. Gary Headrick, 'Treas. Sandy Phillips, Rep. Jeanie Welch, and Sgt. -at-Arms Jim Lyons. Our sponsor is again Mr. Yoder. There are 20 in our graduating class. Suddenly the end of High School is upon us. Ew:4'5?5E'm.3'95,.,,!,i', ,-1 1, , , T , . M, Y 3 f'5 4 'l' ,i V, - V ,

We were watching the door, expecting a raid or something, when in walked Larry State Bull Bog wearing his dashing Highway Patrol uniform. He had decided to do the chasing instead of the running for a change. Larry hadn.'t lost his racing spirit, though. He takes his hot patrol car to the drags every Sunday afternoon. I noticed that Jimmy Playboy Lyons was a little starry eyed when I shook hands with him. But then you'd be starry eyed too if you were the photographer for the famous Playboy magazine. Guess he got the idea while taking Annual pictures. I remember he used to have a bad habit of loaning his camera to a girl during Phys. Ed. 'James Dark is the successful American writer who just won the Pulitzer Prize for his outstanding literary contribution, My Wife, The Love of My Life . The inspiration for this remarkable book was provided by the former Miss Sheila Farrell who is now the charming and vivacious Mrs. James Dark. Gearald The 'Big' Wheel Rutledge is, believe it or not QI can'tj a big Wall Street tycoon. He does millions of dollars worth of business everyday. If he would cash in all of his stocks it would break the stock market. I had to look twice to recognize Professor'.' Harold Fritts in his tuxedo. It made him look so dignified, but then I guess that's how the Superintendent of Cottey College should look. Harold also teaches Latin and Music at the college. He admitted that he enjoyed his work geatly. Sizzling Sue Sumner won the 1969 Miss America Contest. The competition was very stiff, but she won hands down. She's now working as a model in one of the top fashion shops in New York. A Dr. Steve Hic! Duffey has made quite a name for himself. ,On top of being one of the nations leading surgeons, 'he is also President of the Budweiser Brewing Company. In his spare time he works as a taster for his company. Farmer John Heckadon stayed on the farm after graduation. tHe always liked farm work so well.j Johnnie just kept on buying land until now he owns most of Vernon County and part of Bates. Beverly The Body May-has recently released her latest movie, Girl in the Top- less Bikini. TheQMetz Bombshell is about the hottest thing'in show business. She nets at least S50 million a year. Last but not least is Keith The Brain Breneman. He's a world famous scientist now. His latest scientific discovery may win the Nobel Prize- -dehydrated bubble-gum. He's been working on the project for many' years. , Well, that about takes care of everybody. What am I doing? I'm still apologizing for some silly things I said when I wrote this class prophecy way back in 1965. 5 by Jerry Henry 3'Ne-3' ' 1il.E5'.-.. En. , : -f ' .. .:. . A .- V ' I .. . Q-. fe? H .-
