the Seniors D E H E Ill-I l'l W3 CLASS HISTORY n On August 23, 1952, at 9:00 A.M. ten Freshmen enrolled at Old Metz High.n Everything was new and different to us, but for two it was completly new, they were Katherine Brooks and John Fritts. For our class officers we chose Dorothy Shrum as President, John Thorpe as Vice-President, Mildred Wingate as R9P0PteP, and Mary Ann Burchell as Secretary and Treasurer. we chose Mr. Chapin as our Class Sponsor. We were initiated by the Sophomore's before the first quarter. At the quarter we gained a new classmate, Ruby Willson. We chose Katherine Brooks and John Fritts as our King and Queen candidates for the Carnival. Our Sophomore year we started with initiating the Freshmen we initiated them but the lights went out and our party was slightly cut short. For our class officers we elected Ruby Willson, President, John Fritts, Vice-President, Dorothy Shrum, Secretary and Treasurer, and Katherine Brooks, Reporter. For our Class Sponsor we chose Mr. Howard. For our King and Queen we chose Elton Raabe and Mildred Wingate. Gene Shields moved away at the half of the year. At the end of the year the Freshmen returned a party. During Rodman, who to more fun officers we the summer before our Junior year we lost Bill moved to Kansas City. We were looking forward and the Junior and Senior Trip. For our class chose Elton Raabe, President, Donald Coffey, Vice-President, Katherine Brooks, Secretary and Treasurer, and John Fritts, Reporter. Mrs. Chapin was chosen as our Class Sponsor. On November 27, l95h, we'presented our Junior Play nMe and My Shadow,n a mystery in three acts. John Thorpe joined the Navy at the end of the semester. We chose Dorothy Shrum and Elton Raabe as our King and Queen. We took the Seniors on a very delightful trip to Rockaway Beach on May 9. We ordered our class rings at the first of school. They arrived during the second week in November. At the end of school we left to the school an electric water cooler. For on Class Night we put on a one act play entitled nGrandma Fixes Things.n We started our Senior year with the following officers: President, John Frittsg Vice-President, Dorothy MorrisCShe married last Junebg Secretary and Treasurer, Ruby Willson, and Reporter, Katherine Brooks. we chose Mr. Woody as our Class Sponsor. We went to Kansas City to the Royal on October 20, 1955 for our skip day. On November l, 1955, we went to Fort Scott to have our Senior pictures taken. We went in the little green panel bus and the cider jug was along. i0n December 9, we presented our Senior Play entitled, WA Ghostly Evening,n a one act comedy. At Christmas we were very sorry to loose Mr. woody. Mr. Pinks, our new music teacher, was now our sponsor. Now as we come to the end of our journey, we wish to thank the faculty, the school board, the tax payers, and most of all the ones who really made our education possible, NOUR PARENTS.n
