' ai r' , , M Class History Way back in the year of 1951, 17 very green Freshmen wandered through the halls of nOld Metz High.u For our class officers we chose Larry Smith, for President, Junior Brooks as our Vice-presi- dent, David Weddle as our Secretary and Treasurer, and Bob Coffey as our Reporter. For our Class Sponsor, we chose, Mr. Chapin. We were initiated by the Sophomore's in September. We returned them with a ubang upn party at the end of the year. We chose for our King and Queen, Bill Parrack and Clela Pullin. During the first semester we lost Larry Smith, who moved to Kansas City, and fl gained Bill Parrack, who moved from Kansas City. ,QW Our Sophomore year we got to initiate the Freshmen, and later WUT on in the year they gave us a return party. It was a lot more ' ni fun for us than it was the year before. We chose for our class 'MDT President, Sue Thomas, Vice-president, Charlie Morris, Secretary T and Treasurer, Janet Wilson, and Reporter, Florence Kendrick. This '4hH time our Class Sponsor was Mr. Davis. This year we chose Donald inf Reed and Sue Henry, for our King and Queen. At the beginning of 'ffl this year we gained Shirley and Evelyn Chapman, Charles Morris 1'+i and Melvin Miller, and lost Janet Wilson, who moved to Kansas City. ,Qu When school ended we had 2O members. V '+Wl Our Junior year was our most exciting year so-far. For our vw! class officers this year we elected Charles Morris as President, fwww David Weddle as Vice-president, Shirley Chapman as Secretary and A w+ Treasurer, and Junior Brooks, as Reporter. For our Class Sponsor riwf we chose Mrs. Chapin. During the summer we lost our good friend 'iyl and classmate, Gearld Kennedy, who is missed by everyone. During f, tiiili 1 the first quarter we gained Alan Campbell from Harrisonville, and 4 W during the last semester Clela Pullin moved to Idaho, leaving us - it with l8 members On October 26 we presented our Junior Play 1 We ' 9 ' W N ' 1 Il Uw7 Fuedin Over Yonder , a comedy in three acts, which was a nreal apt, success.n This year we chose for our King and Queen, Junior 'w1n Brooks and Evelyn Chapman. This was the year we slaved away at vu selling pop, candy, etc., so we could give the Seniors the tradi- ,,Q1 tional Junior and Senior Trip. We went to Rockaway Beach and the . L Ozarks. It was lots of work, but a nrootin'-tootin' success.n .'En We ordered our class rings in October, and after much eager anti- ml, During our Senior year, we continued to do things for ndear ,wi Old Metz High.n We started the year with 16 members, as we lost w' Sue Thomas and Charles Morris. For our class officers we chose f'f David Weddle, President, Florence Kendrick, Vice-president, S A as Evelyn Chapman, Secretary and Treasurer, Shirley Chapman, Reporter, ljw, this year we chose for our Sponsor, Mr. Cox. In the fall came nsneak ,,5,i dayn, to Kansas City where we attended the American Royal. Oh! qgii what a day! This year our King and Queen Candidates, Clinton dif Stubblefield and Audrey Payne, were crowned, after a nlong, hard - all battle,n on October 29. On October 21, we traveled to Ft. Scott, ravi, where we had our Senior pictures taken. At noon we were treated my to dinner by our photographer, Mr. Barnett. may .
