“Class istory It has often been remarked that history has a peculiar way of repeating itself, and so to a certain extent the history of our class is much like the history of the classes which have gone before, and of others which will follow. On the 2nd day of September 1944, Donald Ratzlaff, Harold Brewer, Cecil Wilcox 'Ia Verne Wilcox Irvil Liles David Bhirk Janie Barker Delores White Loren Wilson Loren Rinehart Patty Shields Norma Lea Barker Bernice Soderstrom Billv Kleitz Jim Bob Handlv Wilma Brown and Ellis Charles walked uo the Metz High School steps as Freshmen At the half of our first year we lost Norma Lea Barker Cecil Wilcox La Verne Wilcox and Irvll Liles The second vear we gained Doraine Branson but later lost David Shirk and Janie Barker The Junknr vear was quiet and neaceful with no losses or gains Along toward the last of school we Juniors took the Sen4ors on a trip to the Ozarks, Lake Tanevcomo and had a wonderful trip The senior vear ve galned Melvin Brooks from Stotesburv then in October 22 we went to Fort Scott Pittsburg Joplin Cartha e and on back to Metz which concluded a great dav of excitement We even saw a bear J The Juniors took us on a verv nice trio which we all enjoved very much We have en1oved our years at school 'Thanks' to our wonderful teachers Signed Sneak Day P-as-.
