C A R N I V A L S In the fall after our school work had gotten SUCCGSSHHQIUHQGT way, plans were made for our annual carnival. The candidates were as followsz freshman class, Mary Ellen Tough and Harold Clutter, sophomore class, Marjorie Foreman and Buddy Robinson, junior class, Gyneth Johnson and Vernon Pryorg senior class, Doris Liles and Richard Yeates, Since the sophomores won the race, the winning candidates were Marjorie Foreman'and Buddy Robinson.' The freshman class gave a play for the program. Those who were in the play were Marjorie Markello, Gene Summers, Mary Ellen Tough and Edward Stone. 'f l , The sophomores gave a play entitled, HCorn Fed Babies.H. Mrs. Opal Heatherly directed it and the characters were namelyi N Joyce Christy, Buddy Robinson, Willard Brown and Marjorie Foreman. 'The juniors gave a play in the study hall and it was very successful. I This carnival ended with the activity fund a little richerand with the students more enthusiastic about basketball. Our next carnival was given by the grade rooms on December 6. The candidates were chosen in the same way as for the first carni- val. Candidates were as followss lst and 2nd grades, Joe Liles and Ethel Wingate, 3rd and 4th grades, Peggy Tough and Wesley Riderg 5th and 6th grades, Gene Willsey and Lois Westerholdg 7th and Sth 8513215939 Neil Wilson and Sadie Sheddrick. The Upper Grades won the contest so Neil Wilson and Sadie Sheddrick were crowned king and queen of the second carnival of this year. This carnival did not end so profitably, however it gave the grade rooms a tidy sum and it profited the juniors in their food stand. Thus, another year has ended with the completion of two more annual carnivals.
