In September, l956, seven bashful freshmen entered Metz High School to increase their knowledge and to remain for four, long, strenuous, but very happy years. These seven included, namelyg Gera Johnson, Doris Liles, Bette Finch, Dorothy HcGinnis,Richard Yeates Winifred Strait and James Cox. Two weeks after school started the sophomores initiated us and we were soon one of the crowd. Later,we gave a party for the benefit of the sophomores. Our class was increased by one when Louise Howard entered in December. g ' 4 1 We began our sophomore year with the same number of representatives in the fall of l957. We entertained the freshmen this year with an initiation party at the high school building. We put in nine months of study this year and besides the usual number of events, nothing extraordinary happened. ' In the fall of l95S, our class was decreased in number, when Winifred Strait moved to Newton, Kansas. ' This year, we chose Miss Gaines as our sponsor and we I soon were rehearsing for our junior class play, which was entitled,?The Blue Bag.H Miss Gaines gave a Christmas party at her home for our class and the' invited guests. ' The seniors and faculty were guests of the juniors on a trip taken to Rockaway Beach in the Czark region of Missouri. ' We began our final year on September 5, with six pupils. Louise Howard dropped out at the end of our junior year. This year we presented our senior play, HDon't Darken My Door.u I We were guests of the juniors on a trip this spring in our honor. We seniors went to Eldorado Springs and had our pictures taken on the morning of March first. Thus, our class, beginning as bashful freshmen, graduated as proud and dignified seniors.
