The requiremenls for eleclion fo The Honor Sociely include l'he al- fainmenl' of af leasl I0 credils in scholarship, 5 credils in characler, and I0 credils in service. No sludenl may be elecled unless he presenfs a +o+al of 30 credifs in all lhree groups. On all poinls, fhe Faculry Ad- visor has fhe final word, subiecl' +o review by lhe principal. Upon elecfion, sludenls may immedialely parficipafe in 'rhe aclivi- lies of 'rhe sociely, which meels every Thursday, and lhey are enfilled lo wear fhe insignia of fhe Honor Sociely. Nol only are we becoming known for our academic and vocafional achievemenls, buf, under 'rhe guidance of Mr. Harold Barr, Chairman of +he Healrh Educalion Depar+men+, Melro is growing info a full-fledged a+hle+ic school wilh a firsl'-rafe baskefball feam, and, perhaps, foofball, +rack and +ennis 'reams in +he offing. The sporling year s+ar+ed off unpropi+iously. Mr. Koslan, as a re- sull' of fhe pressure of work, had lo resign as coach of +he Baskelball Team. Afler The Easf New York fussle, Melro began 'ro hi+ Hs slride and friumphed over Chelsea Vocalional in an easy 27-20 vicfory. Wilh several con+es+s slill 'ro be decided, Me+ro is scheduled, according +o fhe smarl' money guys, +o win 'rhe remaining games and wind up +he season wilh only fhree losses.
