Remember May The First 1 A challenge to our memories, some folks are always making. I sometimes stop to wonder 'bout the liberty they're taking. The Alamo-Remember itll the men would always say, They printed signs, poetic lines We can't forget the day. Pearl Harbors been attackedfn, they screamed- We'll not forget t That it was ever possible's a very doubtful fact. Remember Pearl Harborn is what we'll always see'-1 It gets me sore, what is it for? This forceful fallacy. One slogan, though, I'll ne'er forget--It's etched deep in my brain It's printed there in brighter tights than Remember the Maine. Its awful, dazzling, blinding light has put me at my worst, Its pointed spear is tipped with fear- HRemember May the First! I in You can't scare me with silly talk ,bout finishing on time, lust foolish words don't mean a thing, they aren't worth a dime. My project isn't tough, you see, just keeps me on the go: Fact it's a cinch, it's just a pinch .... Am I worried? Oh, no! I I Oh, foolish words, unthoughtful words, you nearly caused my end! You would have, too, if not my ways I presently did mend. For, when the month of April came, and found me barely started, Those flaming words rung through the herds. And idleness departed.
