Science and Math Organizations Stimulate the Minds of Students Rosalie Powell hesitantly takes the lead in a play for Math Club, while Bob Dunn and Mary Dum-meier wait patiently for their parts. THIRD ROW - Marla Wiedemann, Mary Dummeier, Bob Dunn, Joe Main, Kathy Rutherman, Sharon Medly, Jill Young, Kathy Travis. The Math Club is an organization for freshmen and sophomore students under the leadership of Mrs. Fredna Powers, sponsor. During the past year monthly meetings were held at which programs and plays were presented to show the students that math can be fun and interesting. Mu Alpha Theta is an honorary organization for math students who have maintained a 4.5 average in math and have been active members in the Math Club for two years. Interesting programs on math were presented by the sponsor, Mrs. Elizabeth Beardsley, throughout the year. The Computer Club is a newly formed organization which is a branch of the Physics Department. This past year Mr. Russell Knight, sponsor, conducted weekly meetings explaining the similarities between physics and data processing. 28
