Ricky Grace discusses the Sweetheart dance with Jan Korte as she works on a bulletin board describing the dance. MCHS offered a variety of dances for the student this past year. A formal dance, the Mistletoe Ball, was sponsored by the band parents, and a mod dance was sponsored by the junior class. As a celebration of Valentine’s Day, the Student Council sponsored a Sweetheart dance. This dance was a first in the extracurricular activities of MCHS students. The “Epic of Sound” provided the entertainment for the dance, with the student council doing an outstanding job on decorations. The mothers of the student council members served refreshments during the breaks. The Sweetheart dance proved to be a successful event and hopefully will become an annual affair. The Sweetheart Dance: A Memorable Evening for Sweethearts David Tucker and Mary D. Dummeier refresh themselves during the dance. 18
