To: Mr. Jarvis From: The Class of 1988 iiUL Good luck and best wishes in your future endeavours. Thank you for all that you did for us. HOMECOMING This year ' s homecoming queen was crowned on Oc tober 24 at the Methuen vs. Central football game. Second runner up was Heather Lambert, first runner up was Tricia Cuddy and this year ' s homecoming queen, crowned by Dana Farelli is Kristen Kaatz. WILDCATS Powderpuff Football JNHHj This year ' s game ended in a 6-6 tie. The seniors touchdown came on a pass from Karen Zraket to Sue Ryan. Un- fortunately the referees called a tight game because the underclassmen were getting trampled. Despite the refs, the seniors all turned in fine performances. After realizing our homerooms weren ' t on the third floor next to the pool, we begin to figure out the north house-south house classes, and start to feel at home. We elect officers—they are President, Su lly Defrancisco; Vice-President, J.J. Gil- bert; Secretary, Janet Wante and Treasurer, Raina Curran. Even as freshmen we upheld the winning tradition of Ranger Athletics, with our teams turning in fine performances. After winning the MVC title in a showdown against Dracut, the football team advanced to the Superbowl. Despite an all out effort they fell short. The boys indoor and outdoor track teams both won MVC titles and the outdoor team went on to win the state title. We met the famous Mr. Nick who, as we grew older became a most valuable fri- end. About Thanksgiving time we are introduced to our new principal Mr. Robert Jarvis, but also around this time we were invaded by the rock people who van- dalized our new school. Spring time came and we knew that we had just about made it through freshman year because we were picking courses for next year and electing new class officers. When we return in the fall, the school has a new appearence; we hardly recognize the second floor. They ' ve built walls. For our sophomore year our officers are President, Raina Curran; Vice President, Sue Kenney; Treasurer, Corrinne Bohne and Secretary Karen Saliba. Our athletes continue to shine with the boy ' s outdoor track team winning the MVC, the soccer team winning the MVC, the girls ' basketball team winning the MVC and going on to win the state title. The girls ' outdoor track team won the MVC. The soccer team qualified for the State tournament, and the girls ' cross country team increased in size from 4 members to 12 members. 41 sophomores were inducted into the National Honor Society, and a S.A.D.D. chapter was started at M.H.S. Our class rings have finally arrived after month ' s of waiting, and everyone is now wearing them proudly. Its spring time again, and we ' ve made it through sophomore year. We elect new officers. Our Junior year begins with President Paul Barraclough, Vice President Patti Griffin, Secretary Karen Boynes, and Treasurer J.J. Gilbert. Our athletes continue to shine; the boys ' cross country team wins the MVC, the 746 M W tf r ' rf II Classofl988 girls ' basketball team wins the M VC title, Sean Kiley wins the State title in wrestling for the 107 lb. class. The softball team wins the MVC, the boys ' indoor and out- door track teams win the MVC, the girls ' winter track team captures the MVC title and beats Andover team for the first time 46-40, and the hockey team goes into the semi-finals of the North in the state tournament. 9 Juniors are inducted into the National Honor Society. Officers are elected for the next year. They are President Marc Licciardi, Vice President Tessa Quakers, Secretary Brian Kuchar, Historian Ray Veno, and Treasurer Sue Ryan. May 8 arrives and along with it comes our Junior Prom, According to the teachers it was one of the best proms the school has ever seen. Spring came along and with elections and picking courses, came a flood and a three day vacation. Fall came and finally we are seniors! Our senior class officers are President J. J. Gilbert, Vice President Marc Licciardi, Secretary Jodi Salvo, and Treasurer Patti Griffin. Once again our sports team are outstanding. Our girls ' cross country team wins the MVC, our girls ' and boys ' indoor and outdoor track teams win the MVC. The field hockey team after posting a freshman record of 3-15 qualifies for the states. The girls ' basketball team won the MVC. Sean Kiley won the state wrestling title again, but this time for the 1 1 9 lb. class. Marc Licciardi won the state title in the 300 yard dash, and the mile relay team which consisted of Marc Licciardi, Dana Miele, Chris Max, and Tim Carney also won the state title. The softball team won the MVC, and the ski team won its first meet in over 4 years. Our homecominng queen was chosen. Kristen Kaatz was awarded the crown, with Tricia Cuddy and Heather Lambert as runners up. The Art Honor Society started a chapter at MHS. 20 members were inducted. Officers are President Karen Breen, Vice President Donna Getchell, Secretary Cindy Skaff, Historian Judy Emmert, and Treasurer Anna Luccisano. 25 seniors were inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society, and 4 were inducted into the French Honor Society. The senior class play, The Mouse That Roared, was a huge success. Despite all the controversy over the prom song, everyone seemed to have a good time. Mr. Jarvis has left us and been replaced by acting principal Mr. Nick., who by now is a lifesaver and every seniors ' close friend. Well, its spring time again, but this time we don ' t have to pick courses or hold elections; instead were picking up caps and gowns, going to honors banquets and awards night. And most important-GRADUATING!!! 747 Prophecy The year is 2008, the place is Methuen High School Field House, the occasion is the 20th reunion of the class of 1988. Although the place has not changed quite drastically. As the spotlight shines on the front door, the doorman announces the first arrivals. Dan Lannan, Derek Robillard, Mike Wall, Steve Benson, Ralph Woekel, and John Batts are all don- ning their state troopers uniforms as they line the doorway and lead in some of the first guests, all former members of the class of 1988. Shackled by the wrists is Heather Lambert who was arrested for driving without a license after having it revoked for getting into her 500th accident. After trying his hand at acting to buy his Porsche 91 1 Turbo, Al Arcila found that stealing one would be easier. He was apprehended when he had to stop to allow Liesl Querengasser, who vowed never to have children, lead her twelve little bambinos across the street. Our more violent criminals are at the end of the chained procession. Kathy Bergeron is awaiting trial for attempted murder. She was found trying to beat her 2nd or was it her 3rd husband to death. Chris Paolino is also awaiting trial for the murder of Dorothy Hitchmoth owner of the boutique Designs by Dottie. Chris pleaded not guilty and contends that it was a mercy killing. Dorothy was allegedly talking herself to death. Next come in our more conventional guests Heather Max owner of the hair salon Do ' s by Max hasjust reappeared after seven years of seclusion in a laboratory. She hasjust invented the first pair of non-run nylons. Kathie Farrell and Jason Lee have taken the starring roles in Dirty Dancing £2, £3, and £4 after being spotted by a talent scout at the junior prom. Michelle Sabitino moved to a third world country where she attempted to take over, but was crushed by rebel forces led by former yearbook staffers Karen Zraket, Eillen O ' Connell, Kristen Nitto, Paul Barraclough, and Marc Licciardi. Lynellen McDonnell married famous writer Paul Ramirez and after having five children wrote her own best seller, Me and the Mocha Babies. Cindy Skaf f finally got a piece of black construction paper from Mrs. Fiorello and gave it to artist Craig Shevlin who mounted his first million dollar work on it. Mike Kinsella, after years of protesting for peace shaved his head and became a five star general in the Marine Corp. Members of his platoon are private J.J. Gilbert, private Andrea Kellt, private Karla Homesy, and corporal Joe Farrell. After twenty years of courtship, Lisa Feole finally married Dr, Timothy Keany. They live in a large white house with a white picket fence. Rumor has it that Dan Ford hasjust taken over the milk route in that neighborhood. Dan Lahey, five time Mr. Universe changed his name to Bruno and became the owner of Bruno ' s Bodybuilding. He currently resides in a mansion on Muscle Beach. Staff members at Bruno ' s are Todd Stanganelli, Marc DiBella, and Janet Wante. Malcolm Fulford and K.C. Fuller are the resident towel boys. Mark Spazz Stevenson is now the reigning heavyweight champion of l he World Wrestling Federa- tion. Some of his fiercest competitors are Roger the rock Maroun, and the amazing tagteam talents of Anne the weapon Wadja and Lynda the cannon Cote. Paula Picarillo hasjust finished her first book Lies, Lies Can ' t Believe a Word 1 Said with the opening line - Hey guys wanna hear something 148 Many members of the varsity hockey team went professional, hut have missed the Stanley Cup playoff ' s for the 15th straight time by a goal. Members of the team are Fred Torrisi, Craig Lanouette, John Rose, Ted Tarini, Mike Ricci, Jell Lima, Jim Battye, and Tim Ford. After talking oil the ears of the entire town, Ray Veno has unleashed himself upon the entire country by starting his own syndicated advice column. Frequent writers are Maryellen Carpenter, Wendy Tardugno, and Mike Stallone. After changing dates numerous times for the reunion, much like the prom, Marybeth Fleming could not get a table and is now seated in the parking lot. Angela Delmonte and Jeanine Cagnon arrived with briefcases full of homework they asked for and never finished. Joanne Florio is currently under investigation for diverting funds from her accounting firm to the Contras, KristenCill was last seen in the Amazon Jungle inspecting plants. David Lee Roth was reported missing the same day in the same area. After being crowned queen of the senior class, Meredith Emery became the reigning Miss Olympia and currently is the publisher of the magazine Beautiful Ladies of Bodybuilding. Rob Kramer became the head coach of the local NBA basketball team The Men from Methuen . Their undefeated record just goes to show that the varsity basketball team, like good wine improves with age. Members are big men Mike Samian, Dana Kalanta, and Scott Noyes. Mike Fluet and Mike Sanville have opened up their own Rent-A-Friend service. After being spotted by outspoken agent Dan Shea at Hampton Beach, Sean Collins has become the model for the newest line of barbie dolls— Malibu Phil, Colonel Scott Moore, U.S. AT. retired, could not be present this evening. Although the government disavows any knowledge of his working for them he was last seen flying a weather plane over the Soviet Union. Brian Kuchar finally made his fashion statement on camouflage and came out with his own line of camouflage formal-wear. Pam Moran became head trainer for the Boston Celtics, but was fired after making Kevin McHale late for a game. After being himself for most of high school, Kevin Carpenito reformed and joined the priesthood. He is presently the religion school teacher fondly known as Father Tara Rossi tried to convince husband Joel Rodger to run for president, but took the matter into her own hands and is now the Republican nominee. Sue Ryan and Gina Ducharme have started their own basketball team, Manute and Spud . Chris Sciacca has been cited Officer of the Year by the Methuen Police Department. He earned the honor for outstanding duty in giving the field sobriety test. Mark Ross is now resting comfortably in Happy Acres rest home run by his wife, physical therapist Shiela Murphy. Mark was admitted after having a breakdown at his job as Methuen history teacher after his children put him through the same hell that he put his teachers through. After graduating valedictorian and salutorian of the class of 1988, Leslie Topham and Kathy Lahey were last seenpushing their bag lady carts down Essex Street.
