Economics ci n d Business Club The Methodist College Economics and Business Club is a new club. It held its first meeting on November 27, 1967. lts purpose as set forth in the club's constitution is To bring practical busi- ness experience from the community directly to the students and to establish more interest and activity in the busi- ness field than can be obtained from classroom proceedings. Several guest speakers were spon- sored by the club, including Ronnie Tuthill, the personnel manager of Burl- ington Industries' Lakedale Plant in Fayetteville. Dan V. Townsend, assistant personnel for Black and Deckers' Fay- etteville Plant, narrated a film on indus- try's role in the community. Mrs. lshee Adviser fi Music Club The student chapter of the Music Educators National Conference is com- posed of those students interested in a career in music education. The club meets once a month and programs are presented by music educators in the area. The club sponsored a bake sale at the beginning of the year to obtain funds for various activities to be held during the year. In November, several members attended the annual MENC convention held at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The club gave a spaghetti dinner for the stu- dents of the music department and has given receptions after concerts held in the Student Union.
