The Esperanza Spanish Club has been working on a project entitled f'Let us have a better mutual understanding. This yearls goal was to send seven of its members to Madrid Univer- sity this summer. In order to accomplish this, the following activities were planned to raise the necessary funds: Student Directory, bridge tournaments, a dance featuring the Embers, and a candy sale. The first annual Christmas Tree of M.C. was also the project of the Spanish Club. A favorite of all is the clubis advisor, Dr. Esperanza Escudero, for whom the club is named. Its main function has been to work in conjunction with the Circle K as sponsors of a spring dance for the student body and to contribute to the community and campus life through services comparable to those activated by the Circle K. No community project is too menial for the Campus Coeds. 133

The Pastiche Literary Club was formed for the purpose of developing talents in the art of creative writing. Club members spon- sor the publication of Tapestry , a literary compilation of represent- ative works in prose and poetry, written by talented members of the student body.
