Science Club The goal of the Methodist College Science Club is to promote interest in the area of science. This accomplishment has been made possible largely by the clubls membership in the Collegiate Academy of the North Carolina Academy of Science 1CANCASj, which sponsors lectures given by the foremost scientists of the state's universitites. Regular meet- ings are highlighted by student talks on topics related to their particular interests. Its members share common interest in gaining knowl- edge through the exchange of ideas and through experience in formal speaking. The club is a member of the intercollegie ate debating league and participates in the championship debate tournament annually.

Histor And Political Science lub The History and Political Science Club is a newly organized club which meets periodically to discuss current world affairs. In December, 1966, the club sponsored a lecture by Princess Catherine Caradja of Rumania, who spoke on the importance of freedom. Advisors of the club include all the instructors in the department. Princess Caradja leads discussion for the club. Influential politicians of the club include: Maurice McBride, Vice-president, Jim Gosier, Presidentg Becky McCabe, Secretary-Treasurerg Mr. Wilson, adviserg and Dr. Tobler, adviser. 131
