They are also introduced To The critical methods of philosophy in order That They may acquire The atTiTudes and motivation necessary To take a philosophical approach To erhical, scientific, aesTheTic, religious, poliTical and social problems of our Times. The religion and philosophy area offers a sufficienT number and variety of courses To pro- vide a balanced program for majors in religion. Finally, This area offers courses which are de- signed to sTrengThen and undergird The curricula of other areas of concenTraTion. The language offerings now in- clude a major and minor in French, a minor in Spanish, and liberal arTs requiremenTs in German. The purpose of incorporaTing language sTudy in The liberal arTs pro- gram is To promoTe an inTeresT and appreciaTion of oTher languages, liTeraTures and cusToms which will become a permanenT parT of The sTudenT's culTural background.
