We are attempting to collect all of the different styles of uniforms which students at Methodist-Kahler have worn since 1922. We are in need of two models. Those worn by the student during the years of 1935, 1936 and 1937. At this time the uniform was remodeled and the long sleeves gave way to the short sleeves. We are missing both of these styles. Any graduate who has either of these models packed away and who would be willing to donate them to the school for posterity please send it to Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing, 4 Second Avenue N. VV., Rochester. You will be rendering a worthwhile service to your alma mater. FORMER CADETS . . . , For historical purposes we have also col- lected the summer and the winter styles of the cadet uniforms. Our efforts have been success- ful except for two items. We are in need of a pair C25 of the red shoulder straps that were on the winter coat. We would be delighted if any of you would send these items to the school and complete the cadet uniform collection. Thank you.

Jlliiss Jlllau Qetines Miss M. Mau Miss Malvina Mau, supervisor of Worrall Annex surgery, retired last February 28, after 33 years of service to our hospital and school. During most of her long and successful career, Miss Mau was a supervisor of surgical units, and in this capacity she directed the work and teach- ing of many Methodist-Kahler graduates and students. Miss Mau, a native of Minnesota, attended high school in Fergus Falls, and was graduated from the Wright Memorial Hospital School of Nursing of that city, which was at the time affiliated with Minneapolis General Hospital. Before coming to Rochester, she did general staff nursing at Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, and was assistant superintendent of nurses in a small hospital in Charleston, Illinois. She came to Rochester in October, 1920, and did private duty nursing until 1921, when she joined the operating room staff as a scrub nurse. From 1924 to 1937 she was supervisor of the operating room at the Colonial. In 1937 she resigned from her position and went to Hartford Hospital, in the same capacity. In 1942 she returned to Rochester and accepted a position as head nurse on the eye service at the Worrall Hospital. The following year Miss Mau accepted the position from which she retired this year. QTL. .lint Her prescription for a good nurse, compiled from many years as supervisor and teacher, has four main ingredients: interestg hard work, in- itiative and enthusiasm. She followed that pre- scription. The result was one nurse's method of doing an effective job in a profession where each individual must f1nd his own best means of getting results. In keeping with her interest in nursing, Miss Mau was a member of the Minnesota Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and the Sixth District Nurses Association. She is also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School there for 15 years, and is active in the Trinity Guild and Altar Society. .Although Miss Mau has retired from her position she is not far removed from the hospital and school. She is living at the College Apart- ment, and plans to remain in Rochester. She intends to continue with one of her favorite hobbies, traveling. Jill-CJK School! Changes dlddness I suppose an item of first interest to all of you former students is the fact that at long last the 'school has actually moved out of its hotel surroundings at the Damon where it had been housed since 1926 to a home all its own. CThe building formerly occupied by the First Methodist Church at 4 Second Avenue N. WJ New home of M-K School For all of four times in its 41 year history, the Methodist-Kahler School has been moved. Already it is clear that more than ever before, the new location of the school provides a focal point for the educational, co-curricular and ad- ministrative branches of the school, and the activities of allied groups. The actual moving of our academic home was accomplished during the Christmas holidaysg extensive remodeling was done in order to pro- vide offices and classrooms. No single physical fact could do so much to tie the school together. The new building is first of 'all functional, not only does it provide facilities which we have long needed, but allows for some flexibility, and this we think is import- ant in relation to future plans for building a better school. Many of the rooms have been redecorated and now have a bright fresh aca- demic look. New lights and draperies have been installed, some furniture refurbished, and the secretary's office has been placed in such a position that a visitor does not need to ask for information about how to find information. One of the most striking aspects of the re- decoration job was the tasteful use of colors put in the various areas. The hospital main- tenance and housekeeping departments were of extraordinary help to the faculty in bringing about these changes. Put all together, the renovated Methodist Church has given the Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing a fresh look and increased facilities, Xhich will be a constant stimulus to all of us ere.
