She brought them to the Anatomy and Physiology science instructors at M-K and they advised her to send them to the University of Minnesota for positive identification. Following is an excerpt from the letter she received from the Department of Geology and M inerology: The bones you sent in for identification are 3 tail vertebrae from some dinosaur. They are not sufficiently distinctive to identify further. They are about 80 million years old, of late Cretaceous age. If you do not wish them re- turned, we would like to retain them in the University collections for study purposes. Robert E. Sloan Assistant Professor of Geology Beja did present the University with 2 of these specimens, and since that time has. Con- tributed a larger specimen to their collection. Once again we can note that an inquisitive nature, one of the factors in applied science, may be pertinent in demonstrating that the past iS often a key to future study and knowledge. unc gui1 so the Cla AD' L, ELE Mn Ven
