WILSON A Tribute To A Graduate Oil T922 The following editorial tribute to a graduate of the Kahler School of Nursing appeared in the Blair Pilot Tribune of Blair, Nebraska, on May 12. On National Hospital Day, Mrs. Mary Miller Allen, '22, held open house for her friends and former patrons. VVe feel that all of us owe a very Special vote of thanks to Mrs. XV. C. Allen. She came to Blair With a coveted professional reputation having Worked in the Operating Rooms at the Kahler Hospitals, was Assistant Supervisor of Dispensary at Chicago Lying-In Hospital and Was Assistant Supervisor of the Operating Rooms at St. Marys Hospital in Minneapolis, Minne- sota. Blair Hospital is not a pretentious struc- ture, but it is immaculate and well-equipped, and has been instrumental in saving many a life in an emergency-as well as bringing into this World thousands of babies. Blair Hospital is not as beautiful as the proposed new community hospital will be. But the new hospital is being built by public sub- scription, whereas Mrs. Allen has had to pay for and maintain her hospital out of her own funds. Before the new hospital puts Mrs. Allen out of business after 16 years of faithful service, We think it would be impressive to round up all the folks Whose Crash injuries, ruptured appen- dixes, and sudden illnesses might have caused their death except for Mrs. Allen's handy hos- pital, and have this large list of people parade past and shake the hand of the woman who made it possible for them to stay with us.
