The Link littis Wllnlhtfe fhlliutinninii ssociatfioni if Vliillite iwllettllrnotllistt-lhitatllitller Sclhooll Nttuiesiiiutgw ow The business of your Alumni Association is to be ever looking ahead to broaden the field of participation for all graduates in the interest of our school. Therefore shortly after the purchase of the school and hospitals by the Methodists it was deemed advisable to discuss the possibility of changing the name of the alumni association to The Alutnni Association of the Methodist- Kahler School of Nursing. This would mean that we would then tnain- tain CONTACT . . . the coming together or joining of two persons or elements. For, after all, our goal is to continue our contact with all graduates and to perpetuate, for them, the op- portunities which we were privileged to enjoy, that through building and working together we can be a formidable force for the good of the school. So let us strive for a closer unity of this great family of 2,708 alumni. During the past years your Alumni Associa- tion has done a good job in cetnenting the bond between its alumni and the school. To continue this progress is the hope of your present officers, and we trust that our plans for the future will bring about an even closer relationship between you and your classmates and will increase your interest in the activities of the school and other graduates of the school. As we continue to ad- vance along life's way, we become ever more appreciative of what our school has meant in the moulding of our lives. In this fast changing world, let us keep contact with our new genera- tion of students and graduates and hold out to them the handclasp of friendship. After several discussions it was recom- mended that the changing of the name of time association be put to a vote of the membership. The results of this ballot were announced at tie annual business meeting of the association last May. The decision has been made--our associ- ation is now The Alumni Association of tie Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing. If I were to express any goals for accomplisii- ment, they would be expressed in terms of greater activation of the association in the life of tie school. Today's student, it is to be hoped, will be tomorrow's active alumnus-and if interest has been developed during student days, par- ticipation as an alumnus will be assured. All of us may not agree as to the specific direction to be taken on any given plan or pro- gram. But a substantial number of us can and do agree that the ideals for which our school stands are basic and essential. If we believe in these ideals sufficienty, the Alumni Association provides one means by which we can each give significant impetus to them. It is not an easy task that this new union imposes upon us. To fulhll it, in all of its im- plications, will require that all of us-alumni and students, faculty and administration-''keep moving . . . on and up the great way. Klyrl I. Peterson .Nliettllito-tiliist-flgallilleir Ira ti mat es The Alumni Association cordially invites every graduate of the Nlethodist-liahler School of Nursing to join our organization.
