ihfnink eain tlhe Queen The Link Staff is very happy and proud to bring to you on this page Miss jean Holter, Rochester's 1954 Centennial Queen, who is a senior student of the Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing. The most exciting event of Jean's twenty- one years happened at exactly 11 o'clock on the night of February 13, when at a Coronation Ball in the Mayo Civic Auditorium she was awarded an honor sought by 23 candidates. Jean was crowned Queen by Miss Evelyn Ay, Miss America of 1954. A coronation robe of gold brocade trimmed with white ermine was placed over her shoulders by Mrs. C. W. Mayo. Her full-skirted, floor length formal was rose mauve, nylon tulle over taffeta, the bodice being trimmed with sequins and brilliants. jean's home is in West Salem, Wisconsin, and after graduation from high school she at- tended La Crosse State College at La Crosse, Wisconsin, for a year before entering the Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing in 1951. This blue-eyed, brown-haired beauty has four brothers and three sisters. jean is a graceful five feet eight inches and her' sweet smile and quiet, yet friendly manner are known to all her classmates and many friends who are wishing her a very pleasant and happy reign over the 1954 Rochester Centennial.
