A busy man around Methacton High School is Mr. Cyrus Wagner. The Director of Activities, he arranges the athletic schedules and supervises the sale of Athletic Association Tickets. He main- tains the activity schedule which includes as- semblies and other extra curricular activities. Mr. Wagner is the fiscal agent for Methacton. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bucknell University, he did graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Wagner was the head of the Mathematics Department at Stewart Junior High School. While at Stewart, he also held the position of Administrative As- sistant. Mr. Wagner brings to the school a wealth of ex- perience and talent to fill this important posi- tion at Methacton. CYRUS L. WAGNER JOHN E. SCHOLL FINANCE, AND DISCIPLINE Assistant Principal of Methacton Junior-Senior High School, Mr. John E. Scholl serves in the position of disciplinarian. Mr. Scholl has charge of all club ac- tivities. is responsible for student attendance and also transportation as related to the teacher and pupil. Mr. Scholl handles all matters concerning the distribu- tion of textbooks and supplies. Mr. Scholl obtained his high school education at Pennsburg High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree at West Chester State College and his Masters Degree at the University of Pennsyl- vania. Before accepting his position at Methacton, he taught at Bally Elementary School and Worcester Junior High School.

A most important person around Methacton is Mr. Alpheus P. Drayer, the school princi- pal. He attended Dickinson College earning a Bachelor of Philosophy Degree; and later Kent State, one of the State Universities of Ohio, receiving a Master of Education De- gree. Recently. Mr. Drayer did graduate work at Pennsylvania State University. After hav- ing served as a teacher or principal of sev- eral other Pennsylvania and Ohio schools, he became associated with the Lower Provi- dence-Worcester District in September of 1963. The position of principal carries many heavy responsibilities of which the major ones are the organization and expan- sion of curriculum, and supervision of in- struction. Mr. Drayer works with the teachers and keeps the faculty up to date. He han- dles public relations, meeting with the Home and School Association and various organizations in and out of school. A new and exacting duty Mr. Drayer assumed this summer was that of scheduling all the stu- dents in Methacton. He is also responsible for establishment and control of the budget. The list of duties and responsibili- ties of a principal is long, and many are tedi- ous and tiring. Methacton is privileged to have such a capable and dedicated person filling this position. ALPHEUS P. DRAYER HANDLING DIRECT ADMINISTRATION, ACTIVITIES, JOHN FAUL Mr. John Faul is Administrative Assistant of the Lower Provi- dence-Worcester Joint School System. Included in his du- ties are the maintenance and operation of the school system, supervision of the bus transportation for the school system, including the elementary schools; and conduction of busi- ness transactions, such as preparing bids and specifica- tions. Mr. Faul also has charge of all custodians and bus drivers. 8

Counselors. Mr. Leo Estadt, Mr. Donald Peterson, Mrs. Mona Brown, Mr. Wayne Doebler. As student counselor and Director of Guidance, Mr. F. Wayne Doebler's work includes educa- tional and vocational counseling and testing, as well as personal guidance. Mr. Doebler came to Methacton in 1963 and has been a member of the counseling staff for two years. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Millers- ville State College, his Masters Degree from Pennsylvania State University, and has taken additional work at New York University. Mr. Doebler needs nothing more than a honest answer to his cheerful “ . . . and what can I do for you?” in order to put the machinery of his office into motion. In his position as tenth and eleventh grade counselor, Mr. Donald Peterson has been ac- cepted by the students as a sincere person to whom they may bring their problems. He re- ceived his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bloomsburg State College, his Masters Degree from Bucknell University, and has taken addi- tional work at Eastern Baptist College. Working together as counselor for the seventh, eighth, and ninth graders are Mrs. Mona C. Brown and Mr. Leo Estadt. Mrs. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State College, which is in Western Pennsylvania. Mr. Estadt received his Bachelor of Science De- gree from Pennsylvania State University; his Masters Degree at Temple. Whether confronted by a nervous seventh grader with a schedule problem or a ninth grader who is beginning to worry about his career, Mrs. Brown and Mr. Es- tadt are willing to offer advice. t In a private conference, Mr. Doebler helps a senior with college and career plans. 10
