FACULTY 4 CURRICULUM 24 SENIORS 30 ACTIVITIES 66 UNDERCLASSMEN 84 SPORTS 98 ADVERTISEMENTS 130 Contents Foreword This is a record of the year 1964-1965 at Methacton High School. It is a record of what we attempted and what we achieved. Much has been continued, much has been initiated, much had been accomplished. This rec- ord cannot be the final word, for there is still more to be tried by those who come after us. It cannot be the com- plete word, for there are many day by day incidents which stand most fondly in our memories. But if, years from now, this journal is successful in starting a chain of memories, it will have served its purpose. So we, the Class of 1965, proudly dedicate this book to those who have made this school possible: the people of Lower Pro- vidence and Worcester Townships and the faculty of our school. METHACTON JR.-SR. HIGH SCHOOL Fairview Village, Pennsylvania Volume 2 Administration School Board. FIRST ROW: Mr. Albert Bobb, Mr. William Knobler, Mr. William Yoh, Mr. Clarence Bosler, Mr. Radcliffe Farley, Mr. Mr. Robert Hilderbrand, Mrs. William Ralston, Mr. Raymond Thomas Landis. Absent — Mr. David Meixner. Ramsey. SECOND ROW: Mr. Marriott Eastman, Mr. Paul Swank, Board Officers. Mr. Albert Bobb, Secretary: Mr. Raymond Ramsey, Vice-President; Mr. Robert Hilderbrand, President: Mr. Marriot Eastman, Treasurer. Few students at Methacton Junior-Senior High School realize that behind our school there is an invisible force that is pushing us ahead to greater goals. The men and women on the Lower Providence-Worcester Joint School Board compose this active force. Each month these people give their time and energy to insure that our school is the best that it can be. Our rules and regula- tions, and our privileges too, are reviewed by them as they help us to build a better school. Heading this important organization is Mr. Robert Hilderbrand, President; Mr. Raymond Ramsey, Vice-President; Mr. Al- bert Bobb, Secretary; and Mr. Marriot East- man, Treasurer. 6 Controlling General Administration VINCENT F. FARINA “What the best and wisest parent wants for his own child that must the community want for all its children.” John Dewey Having journeyed along the highway of education together for four years, you have acquired friendships and associa- tions which will be cherished among the many fond mem- ories of your life. Here, within these friendly halls, through the kindly influence of the faculty, you have been guided without being pulled; urged without being suppressed. Now you have reached a milestone in your journey, from here company is parted with those friends, teachers, and parents who have aided thus far, through their experi- ence, kindness, and advice. You are armed with the heritage of strength, knowledge, and character with which your Alma Mater has endowed you. In your struggle forward, seeking “the happy life,” remember always that the earth gives its fruits only to those who labor for them. You have learned that it takes time to bring excellence to maturity. With these thoughts in mind take leave of Methacton knowing that aptitude without aspiration is lifeless and inert. Success is a blend of talent and desire, of ability fused with zeal. To each of you, I extend my personal good wishes for success. Bon Voyage! Vincent F. Farina Supervising Principal 7 A most important person around Methacton is Mr. Alpheus P. Drayer, the school princi- pal. He attended Dickinson College earning a Bachelor of Philosophy Degree; and later Kent State, one of the State Universities of Ohio, receiving a Master of Education De- gree. Recently. Mr. Drayer did graduate work at Pennsylvania State University. After hav- ing served as a teacher or principal of sev- eral other Pennsylvania and Ohio schools, he became associated with the Lower Provi- dence-Worcester District in September of 1963. The position of principal carries many heavy responsibilities of which the major ones are the organization and expan- sion of curriculum, and supervision of in- struction. Mr. Drayer works with the teachers and keeps the faculty up to date. He han- dles public relations, meeting with the Home and School Association and various organizations in and out of school. A new and exacting duty Mr. Drayer assumed this summer was that of scheduling all the stu- dents in Methacton. He is also responsible for establishment and control of the budget. The list of duties and responsibili- ties of a principal is long, and many are tedi- ous and tiring. Methacton is privileged to have such a capable and dedicated person filling this position. ALPHEUS P. DRAYER HANDLING DIRECT ADMINISTRATION, ACTIVITIES, JOHN FAUL Mr. John Faul is Administrative Assistant of the Lower Provi- dence-Worcester Joint School System. Included in his du- ties are the maintenance and operation of the school system, supervision of the bus transportation for the school system, including the elementary schools; and conduction of busi- ness transactions, such as preparing bids and specifica- tions. Mr. Faul also has charge of all custodians and bus drivers. 8 A busy man around Methacton High School is Mr. Cyrus Wagner. The Director of Activities, he arranges the athletic schedules and supervises the sale of Athletic Association Tickets. He main- tains the activity schedule which includes as- semblies and other extra curricular activities. Mr. Wagner is the fiscal agent for Methacton. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bucknell University, he did graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Wagner was the head of the Mathematics Department at Stewart Junior High School. While at Stewart, he also held the position of Administrative As- sistant. Mr. Wagner brings to the school a wealth of ex- perience and talent to fill this important posi- tion at Methacton. CYRUS L. WAGNER JOHN E. SCHOLL FINANCE, AND DISCIPLINE Assistant Principal of Methacton Junior-Senior High School, Mr. John E. Scholl serves in the position of disciplinarian. Mr. Scholl has charge of all club ac- tivities. is responsible for student attendance and also transportation as related to the teacher and pupil. Mr. Scholl handles all matters concerning the distribu- tion of textbooks and supplies. Mr. Scholl obtained his high school education at Pennsburg High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree at West Chester State College and his Masters Degree at the University of Pennsyl- vania. Before accepting his position at Methacton, he taught at Bally Elementary School and Worcester Junior High School. Counselors. Mr. Leo Estadt, Mr. Donald Peterson, Mrs. Mona Brown, Mr. Wayne Doebler. As student counselor and Director of Guidance, Mr. F. Wayne Doebler's work includes educa- tional and vocational counseling and testing, as well as personal guidance. Mr. Doebler came to Methacton in 1963 and has been a member of the counseling staff for two years. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Millers- ville State College, his Masters Degree from Pennsylvania State University, and has taken additional work at New York University. Mr. Doebler needs nothing more than a honest answer to his cheerful “ . . . and what can I do for you?” in order to put the machinery of his office into motion. In his position as tenth and eleventh grade counselor, Mr. Donald Peterson has been ac- cepted by the students as a sincere person to whom they may bring their problems. He re- ceived his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bloomsburg State College, his Masters Degree from Bucknell University, and has taken addi- tional work at Eastern Baptist College. Working together as counselor for the seventh, eighth, and ninth graders are Mrs. Mona C. Brown and Mr. Leo Estadt. Mrs. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State College, which is in Western Pennsylvania. Mr. Estadt received his Bachelor of Science De- gree from Pennsylvania State University; his Masters Degree at Temple. Whether confronted by a nervous seventh grader with a schedule problem or a ninth grader who is beginning to worry about his career, Mrs. Brown and Mr. Es- tadt are willing to offer advice. t In a private conference, Mr. Doebler helps a senior with college and career plans. 10 GUIDANCE PERSONNEL, LIBRARIAN, SECRETARIES Secretaries. FIRST ROW: Mrs. Hilda Duffield, Mrs. Margaret Shukwit. SECOND ROW: Mrs. Jean Rothenberger, Mrs. Mary Lou Wright, Mrs. Emma McGinniss, Mrs. Eliza- beth Elser, Miss Sally Keck. Absent — Mrs. Katherine Russell, Mrs. Alma Sproul. In the four short years of its existence, Methacton’s library has accumulated an amazing amount of material. The collection of 7,500 books, ninety maga- zines, and six newspapers makes find- ing reference materials a pleasant chore. Students also have a wider variety for recreational reading and browsing. Of special importance to juniors and seniors is the complete set of college catalogs and pamphlets. Miss Amy Kneibler, Methacton’s li- brarian, is aided by thirty student assistants. Included in their jobs, along with helping in the library, is the responsibility of decorating the display cases and arranging the Christmas Tea. Junior and Senior High Student Council, homeroom officers, and the administration make up the guest list for this holiday function. MISS AMY KNEIBLER 11 WILLIAM G. Frank Soneghet, Foreign Student First of all, I wish to thank the entire community very much for making it possible for me to come to the United States and live here for a whole year. I also want to thank Mr. Drayer. my teachers, the Kecks, and the American Field Service chapter for their advice and guidance; they have made the year wonderful and memorable for me. Living with the Kecks in the United States and attending Methacton High School has been a unique pleasure and privilege. Getting used to living like an American and following your customs has been quite an experience. I enjoy American school life. There really is an opportunity for the student to do research; also, most activities are held at school, which is the center of the student’s life. But it is the American people that have impressed me most of all. They are kind and thoughtful, eager to help, and aware of their duty, I am very grateful to them. My best thanks go to those who have made this year such an unforgettable experience. Gratefully yours Frank FranK's American sister and brother were Sally and Bill Keck, both well-known at Methacton. Methacton High School’s second foreign exchange student is Francisco de Assis Soneghet from Brazil. “Frank,” as he is known'at Methacton. is the youngest of four children, having two older brothers and an older sister. One of his brothers was an A.F.S. student in 1962. At Methacton Frank has become an active member of the class of 1965, participating in the Senior play, the soccer team, track, swimming, Student Council, the Senior Assembly, and the prom decorating committee. When Frank’s year in the United States is over, he intends to enroll at the University of Engineering in Brazil, majoring in either mechanics or engineering. When asked his thoughts about being a foreign student Frank replied, “I hoped to come to the United States as an A.F.S.’er, but when I re- ceived the positive answer I was afraid to come. I didn’t know I was going to meet so many wonderful people in America like the Keck family and the students and teachers in so friendly a school as Methacton.” FRANK SONEGHET Frank participated in many school activities including Varsity soccer. In April 1964, the Class of 65” presented The Roaring Twenties,” displaying the talents of many of the present Senior Class members. The show began with the baton twirling of Donna Cover as “Twirly Early and her Silvery Wand.” Next came the “Susie-Q's — Linda Bechtel. Ruth Davis, Janet Hunsick- er, and Sue Hunsicker — singing “If You Knew Susie. Following was Bob Ludwig as Hal Colson, a take off on the all time favorite, Al Jolson. The Baby Dolls” in the next act were nine class members singing “You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby. Mortimer and Friend” was a hilarious comedy act by Bill Thomas and Joe Gra- nacher. The Roaring Five” followed, highlighted by Martha Gotwals who tripped to the tune of Tip-toe Through the Tulips. The more sedate side of this era was shown in the form of a softshoe dance by Sharon Goodman and Linda Forsyth as Frick and Frack. Next, flirting with the boys, Bashful Betty,” Judy Barber, sang to Her Brood.” The highlight of the entire assem- bly was the boys’ kickline. Kicking” to the tune of “Ball and the Jack,” the boys did so well that tney were asked for an encore. The Ragamuffins entertain with ragtime jazz. The Ragmuffins” followed, doing a medley of popular tunes from the “Twenties.” Flo Bair sang and did the Charleston as “Little Lillum’s and her Chorus Cuties.” The finale of the show was a Charleston by a group of girls from the class. As the show ended the Class of “65” expressed their appreciation to both Mr. Gerald Donmoyer, Class spon- sor, who supervised the production and Mrs. Anna May Cummings who served as choreographer. The act with Mortimer and his Friend left some doubt in everyone's mind. 57 The Baby Dolls were a group of singing nurses and their charges. Lovely Flo Bair reigns as Queen of the evening. 58 THE JUNIOR PROM TOPS THE ’63-’64 YEAR An old surrey adds to the nostalgic atmosphere of the pre war South. For the Class of “65,” the Junior Prom was the most exciting event in their whole Junior year. The romantic atmosphere of the Deep South during the middle 1800’s was recreated by the artistic talents of many class mem- bers, striving to illustrate realistically the theme, “Gone With the Wind.” Four colorful murals covered the walls and an old-fashioned surrey added to the setting. Re- freshments were served under the portico of a southern mansion by girls from the Class of “66,” dressed in Southern belle costumes. Dancing to the music of Joe Nat’s Band, students and guests awaited the crowning of the Queen. Seven class members had been selected to serve on the Queen’s Court, one of whom was chosen Queen. Crowned Queen of the Prom was Flo Bair, and comprising her court were Anna Arena, Janet Hunsicker. Lou Pasquale, Judy Hig- gins. Sharon Frable, and Bert Margolis. Selected by their class vote, Junior girls and their dates make up the Prom Court. 59 Bernard Maher and Jane Butterfield were stage brother and sister. Emily, played by Marie Collins, gazes at the stars from her bedroom window. John Skukwit, playing the lead of Stage Manager, conducts the marriage ceremony. 60 Two cast members enjoy an off stage joke. Director Donmoyer gives advice to Dale Pennapacker. THE SENIOR PLAY, OUR TOWN The annual Senior Play was held on November 13 and 14. This year’s production was “Our Town,” written by Thornton Wilder. The play was directed by Mr. Gerald Donmoyer, class sponsor. Heading the cast of characters was John Shukwit as the Stage Manager, Bernard Maher as George Gibbs, and Ma- rie Collins as Emily Webb. The show was presented both nights to a full house, rewarding the actors for their many weeks of practice. Mary Ann Buttaro and Bill Thomas were joint masters of ceremonies. During a break in dress rehearsal, members of four different acts combine talents. Poet Arthur E. Blockmore reads Heat Wave — yeah yeah, yeahyeah. yeahyeah. SENIOR ASSEMBLY The Class of 1965 held its Senior Assembly in early March. The assembly was a series of separate acts, and all who desired could participate. The acts were varied, ranging from the soft and sad folk songs to the hilarity of the boys' dance routine. The performance was a treat to all who were able to see it. Doin' what comes Naturally Ann Wiedemeier loses her pants. I Feel Pretty” was eliminated because Flo Bair had a sore throat on the day of the assembly. Three seniors sing a medley of folksongs. Pantomimist Hunsberger walks in a subway tunnel with Ambrose. What is Mert thinking about? SENIOR HIGH STUDENT COUNCIL ROW 1: Grace Jones, Sharon Fra- bach. Judy Clairmont, Mr. McConnell. HIGH STUDENT COUNCIL We are building many splendid churches in this coun- try. but we are not providing leaders to run them. I would rather have a wooden church with a splendid par- son than a splendid church with a wooden parson! Drury This same quotation can be applied to high school stu- dent councils. In the case of Methacton’s Council, we can all be proud to say we had a splendid parson in the person of Randy Harley. Under his leadership and the advice of the Council adviser. Mr. J. Russell Mc- Connell, this group successfully carried out its aim — to be the voice of the student body. Through their regular weekly meetings and special committee meetings, the homeroom representatives and the officers discussed the known wishes of the student body. All aspects of student life were touched by Council activities. Some of these activities were: the bonfire, held the night before the opening game of the football season; the chartering of buses, which made it possible for many more stu- dents to attend the various sports activities; the spon- soring of dances; the Christmas Project, which bright- ened the holiday for many unfortunate people; and the club chartering program, which was the highlight of this year’s work. Also, through the use of regular voting pro- cedures in elections, Council made better future citizens of our student body. Members of the Student Council discuss the problems of the student body. SENIOR HIGH STUDENT COUNCIL OFFICERS. Lorraine Pasquale. Secretary; Dave Minnich, Parliamentarian; Randy Harley. President; Bernard Maher. Sergeant-at-Arms; Bill Way, Treasurer; Janis Smith. Vice-President. JR. HIGH STUDENT COUNCIL The voice of President Rebecca Herr could be heard every Monday as she called to order the meeting of the Junior High Student Council. With the guidance and advice of Mr. Winfield Boyer, this group was able to fulfill all areas of its responsibility. Dances were sponsored throughout the year and a student week was conducted in February. The week's program consisted of a Clash Day. on which the students allowed their imaginations to run wild concerning dress and arrived at school in a varied assortment of stripes and plaids; a Sadie Hawkins Day, on which the girls took the part of gentlemen in the opening of doors and the carrying of books; a Student-Teaching Day; a Green and White Day, which was highlighted by a Junior High basketball game; and a talent assembly. Besides providing activities for their own students, the Council organized a Goodwill Drive; and through the Junior High students’ sup- port, the Council adopted a South Korean girl for a year. In addition to Rebecca, the following students were in- stalled in November as officers; Lydia Smith, Vice-Presi- dent; Peggy Perkins, Secretary; Victoria Fisher, Treasurer; Joan Lachenmayer, Parliamentarian; and Peter Folen, Ser- geant-at-Arms. SMOKE SIGNALS STAFF Smoke Signals, Methacton’s school newspaper, is published periodically by a group of in- terested senior high students. This year the task of publishing the paper was incorporated with a new journalism class; class work and the publishing of the paper flourished side by side. Under the direction of Mrs. Muriel Pan- coast, Smoke Signals was expanded to six pages. The paper covers all facets of school life such as “In the Spotlight,” featuring one of the students who is prominent in school activi- ties; cross-word puzzles for the puzzle fans; sports news and reviews; messages from the guidance counselors and school officials; col- umns concerning the different classes in Meth- acton; and various other side-lights and news items. The paper is supported by advertise- ments from the surrounding businesses and subscriptions bought by the students. Smoke Signals has become an integral part of Methac- ton and is avidly read by the students of the school. Mrs. Muriel Pancoast is the help- ful faculty adviser of the Smoke Sig- nals staff and teacher of the new journalism course. SMOKE SIGNALS. FIRST ROW: Donna Shaffer. Martha Gotwals, Susan Gurzynski. METHACTONIAN STAFF 1965 As the class of “65” undertook the task of publishing a yearbook, the editors and all those connected with the book realized what a tremendous foundation had been laid by the preceding class. Un- der the leadership of Mary Katz, editor-in-chief; Horace Hall and Sue McMullin, co-editors; Linda Tyson, literary editor; Judy Higgins, photography editor; Gerry Webb, photographer; Linda Royle, sports editor; Darlene Wisneski, typing editor; and Ronnie Curll, ad- vertising editor; the book was compiled. Because much time is required in the preparation of a yearbook, the staff spent many long afternoons and evenings hurrying to meet their deadlines. GLEE CLUB The humming you heard in the halls was the students coming from the glee club room where the “Methactones” practice. Twice a week with the aid of their capable accompanist, Sharon Goodman, the group of sixty chorus mem- bers worked diligently under the leadership of Mr. Robert Carlson, rehearsing for their various performances. The Glee Club participated in the dedication of the new wing of the Lower Providence Presbyterian Church and entertained at the Home and School Association’s Open House. They also sang this year for the Audubon Women’s Club and for the Kiwanis Club. One of the highlights of the vocal season was the “Candlelight and Carol Service,’’ a presentation of some rare, interesting hymns as well as some popular Christmas tunes. The group also rendered a Spring Concert, which ended their musical season on a high note for all who attended. The officers of the Glee Club are: Flo Bair. Sharon Goodman. HIGH SCHOOL BAND An activity that has increased in importance at Methacton is the High School Band, directed by Mr. Thomas Middleton. This year for the first time, the band was introduced into the cur- riculum as a minor subject. These additional practice sessions were well worth the energy put into them, as the quality of the band improved. It has become another asset to Methacton High School. Individually, a few band members, competing against students from schools in nearby districts, performed in the Inter-County Band Festival, the Valley Forge Band Festival, and the South East- ern District Festival. They act as squad leaders and often give extra help to individuals. They also assist in routine matters such as tow- el checks and issuing equipment. SENIOR DRAMATICS The Senior Dramatics club, under the direction of Mrs. Venne- ma, presented two plays this year — one for the students, and one for the Home and School Council. In addition to the cast, there are committees on direction, costumes, and make-up. Under the leadership of Miss Robinson, members of the Junior High Art club are given a chance to express their creativity. Students participating in the art program are given time for extra work on projects, and students not taking art are given a chance to do some. Everyone is given a chance to experiment with materials not ordinarily used. WOODSHOP CLUB The Woodshop club consists of about 15 excellent student craftsmen. The boys have the chance to apply the knowledge they have obtained in class to more complex and challenging projects in the club. A good deal of the emphasis is placed on cooperation since several boys work on a single project. VARSITY “M” CLUB The Varsity “M” club is a service organization made up of boys that have received a varsity letter in some sport. The boys do odd jobs at athletic events and are responsible for policing the grounds afterwards. The 1964-1965 officers are John Christman, President; John Beatrice, Vice-President; John Osborne, Secretary; and Walter Kreiger, Treasurer. VARSITY M” CLUB. ROW 1: Allen Stehman. The officers of this international organization, which enriches the home economics program, are Linda Pigman, President; Carol Holliday, Vice-President; Jo-Ann Bean, Secretary; and Elaine Morehead, Treasurer. Under the direc- tion of Mrs. Williman and Mrs. Berlin, these girls have had a bake sale, sponsored a “stay in school” assembly for grades nine through elev- en, and made Christmas wreaths for the school and a nursing home. The purpose of their money-making projects is to earn money to send representatives to the Homemakers’ Con- vention held at Penn State. JUNIOR HIGH NEWSPAPER The Junior High School put out its own newspaper this year in the form of a “newsletter.” It contained all the junior high news about sports, clubs, teachers, and students. All the articles were original, and the artwork and typing were done by the junior high students themselves. MODERN NOVEL Mr. Romeike’s Modern Novel club is a group of philosophically minded students who dis- cuss the views of today’s authors. A new group at Methacton, this year they read the works of Ayn Rand, C. S. Lewis, J. D. Sal- inger, and John Steinbeck. Coaches Berardelli. Buzzelli. and Marinkov led the team to victory and a championship. “Rags to Riches is a popular phrase around Methacton and among the football followers of the surrounding community. This year. Methacton’s third in Suburban League competition, the football team performed an almost unbelievable feat by capturing the Surburban Section Three crown. In the short span of three years, the boys climbed from the very depths of defeat to the realization of every athlete's dream — an undefeated season. The Methacton team gained another honor as John Beatrice was named the leading scorer in Surburban Section Three. The school was presented the Silver Whistle Award for good sportsmanship, an important factor that is often lacking in a championship team. And as befitting the title holding team, head coach, Mr. William Beradelli, was honored as the area’s most outstanding scholastic coach. He, along with the assistant coaches, Mr. Richard Buzzelli and Mr. George Marinkov, was responsible for guiding and coaching the team members into the champions that they proved themselves to be. When the going was rough, whether encouraged by fans or their own determination, they boys never gave up; and this proved to be the spirit that won Methacton the 1964 championship. Mr. Berardelli advises quarterback Russ Bacchi. Happy Warriors begin a victory drive on the townships' fire engines. Mr. Buzzelli leads a pre game warm-up. SENIOR HIGH SOCCER The soccer team showed an improvement this year, winning two games and tying one. The majority of the games were played to close scores. Even in a sport where teamwork is required, indi- vidual boys often stand out. Bringing honor to Methacton was the naming of Dave Steele to the Suburban Soccer All-Star Team which is chosen by the league coaches. The coaches of the 1964 soccer team were Mr. Kurt Ulrich and Mr. Frank Poehlman. The ‘Medicine Men,” led by such professions as “Slow motion” Buzzelli, and “Dribbles” Cusumano, had a rough time with the Junior and Senior Varsity teams, but by some means (the fairness of which was questionable) they managed to come out with the high- er score. The first organized track and field meets were the Olympic Games of ancient Greece. Today one of the most exciting sport spectacles at Methacton is a track and field meet. Various events include the 100 and 200 yard dashes, 440 yard, 880 yard, and mile runs, high hurdles, high jump, broad jump, pole vault, shot put. discus throw, and javelin throw. Training early in April, the Methacton High School Olympians of track and field showed marked improvement over the previous year. Sparked by such outstanding sprinters as Joe Boyd. Allen Stehman, and Rich Doran, and by shot putter Bill Thomas, the squad matched wits and brawn with four different school teams and participated in three tournament meets. Coach George Marinkov, aided by assistant coach Richard White, drilled the Methacton trackmen in all the various events. Although the Warriors lost their first two meets, they exhibited great morale and faced each opponent with grim determination. The Warriors ended their season with a 2-2 record and a sev- enth place standing in league competition. 118 Dave Schnaithmann builds a good aim for throwing the javelin. f I At the District Meet in Norristown, Joe Boyd placed in both the 100 and 200 yard dashes. He qualified for the P.I.A.A. State Finals held at Penn State. Dave Strohm begins to clear the bar for a good jump. Boys’ Tennis Team. Building a tennis team is a long and rigorous process. In the midst of just such a process is Methacton’s Boys’ Tennis Team. Despite a no-win season, the boys continued to display their desire to win by facing each opponent with determination. The experience they have gained will be valuable in future years. This year’s squad was an exceptionally hard working group of girls and they were greatly appreciated by the athletic teams. The 1964-65 squad was captained by Bert Margolis, and coached by Miss Janet Geatens. The junior high cheerleaders, led by captains Elaine Margolis and Tiffany Hoagland provided the pep for the junior high teams. Miss Amy Kniebler coached the junior high squad.
