She has been an inspiration to students taking business courses, and many of her pupils have been rated as above av- erage in the field of business courses which they have chosen. Without Miss Nachtrieb's help, this Meteor would not be possible. The knowl- edge, guidance, and assistance which we have received from her will undoubtedly be of great value in the future. 6 M. H. Memories are priceless possessions. I remember those days that I spent at Metamora High School. Our senior class was always rated as tops. It had the most musicians, athletes, and honor students. Now as I am sitting here watching the time slowly creep by, I wonder about my classmates and teachers. What are they doing? Are they successful? Have they changed? When will I see them again? In answer to that last question, why don't I start on a long trip and look up all of my old friends? They cer- tainly will be surprised to see me after so many years have gone by. Where shall I begin? First, I'll start by going to New York City. That is where some of my old buddies were planning to start their own businesses. I am setting my modified helicopter on the heliport, centrally located in New York City. This out-dated heliport is being revised by Jan Shull, the mater of modernizing trend. I understand that this heliport is con- structed on the International Trade and Communications Building, owned and operated by Roger Feeback. In this process of setting down my helicopter, I see many interesting sights. For instance, I see a steamer being built in the shipyard. Judy Laux’s husband is the most prominent shipbuilder in America. He is down there di- recting the laborers. Also, I see a strange sight. There, on a towering antenna, adjusting the multicolored light bulbs, is Larry Garlick. Larry sees me and gives me a friendly hand wave. Larry was so much fun in school. Later I find out that Larry is employed by the Talk-a-Vision Company. Charles Ford, the inventor of this vision phone, is establishing other such corporations which employ electrical and mechanical engineers, such as Duane Estelle. Duane is one of those engineers who has many responsibilities. Therefore, Duane has his own secretaries who assist him in filling out some reports. These secretaries are Betty Eisel and Rose Mary Miller. Betty and Rosie tell me that they enjoy the jobs very much. They are working two hours each day and have plenty of time for their families and recreation. 1 am spending an afternoon with Betty and Rosie, since they have this spare time. Betty suggests that we go to the opera. So now we are enjoying the music thoroughly. One of the musical productions is by Louise Koester and Mary Jo Boroff. They are singing beautifully today. We are so proud of our old classmates. The assistant director of the production is Connie Phillips. She has studied for many years and has finally re- ceived recognition in this field of musical production. The scenery for these performances was designed by Mary Moore. Mary is very artistic and gives realism to all of her background scenery. It adds to the enjoyment of the musical. HERFF JONES CO. Jewelers Stationers Medals, Cups, Trophies Graduation Announcements IDEAL GARAGE Chevrolet Sales Service Fay, Cleon, Claud Woodring Phone 644-2431 30 After the opera I decide to go to Europe. Betty gives me all the names and addresses of our classmates who now live in Europe. At the airport I see another friend. I ask Susan Tripp to help me make my reservation. Susie is a secretary for the associate manager, Philip Foreman, who heads the reservation department of the Tri Delta Jet Airline Company. Since Phil is out of town today, Susie is really busy. So she hires some extra help. Now that she has more leisure time, she is helping me with my reservation. I leave Susie and board the airliner. The stewardess looks very familiar to me. Here she comes. Yes, that is Joanne Gee, a girl who was in my senior class. Joanne is telling the passengers that the pilot, William Eisel, in- sists that everyone fastens his seat belt. Ronald Janney is sitting across the aisle form me. He is telling that lady beside him that these seat belts were made by Edward LaFountain and Larry Langenderfer. It seems that Ed discovered the strong material for the belts, and Larry invented a new device for fastening them. According to Ronald Schafer's Statistical Report of 1989, one hundred thousand lives were saved by this new belt. Also Ronnie comments on the economical advantage of these seat belts. We are landing at an airport in London, England. Out of the window I can see the red lights directing the plane in for a safe landing. Our pilot is handling this aircraft as if it were a bird resting in its nest. At die airport Larry Ricica offers to drive me to a hotel. Larry seems to be fascinated by these English sports cars. I am sitting in an English tea Room. Karen Kasper is going from table to table reading tea leaves. She tells me that I am to find great wealth at the end of a rainbow in the month of March. Her assistant, Janice Mossing, is at the Tea Room in Concadshire, England. They have a thriving business built around tourist travel in this area. After leaving die Tea Room, I meet Marcia Wright at the Professional Women's Club. She is the director of this club and invites me to one of their next meetings. Naturally I decline the invitation because I’ll be leaving for home shortly. Next I visit the National Bird Watcher's Society. Two of its active members are Judith Bettinger and Kay Truckor. They enjoy their moments spent with nature and all its beauty. Their data, which they collected in ten years, is very valuable to the government. While I am taking part in a scavenger hunt, I am arrested by the English police. At the police station, Kenneth Loch, the chief of police, questions my whereabouts. During this time another policeman, James Raab, checks with American officials on my past record. Now I am on a plane and am being sent back to America. I will never return to England again. My friends will have to come to visit me the next time. BURKETT’S GREENHOUSE DRIGGS DAIRY FARMS, INC. 1149 Grand Ave. Toledo 1, Ohio Flowers for all occasions Phone 644-3402 Metamora. 'Please miss. Stay off my feet this time. Those darn Tangos! Met amor a school held its annual school carnival March 1. 1962. Approximately 500 people attended the affair. The games included a dart game, fishing pond, sponge throw, shooting gallery, and Bozo. Among the concessions were the White Elephant, Country Store, and a bake sale. The grade school students presented an entertaining program. A basketball game was played between the faculty of M.H.S. and local Tons-a-Funs against the WTOD Won- ders, a radio disc jockey team. Metamora’s team emerged victorious with the final score of 40-32. The dance was an enjoyable conclusion to the evening's program. Mr. J. C. Phillips and his high school dance band provided the music for the dance. The prizes were won as follows: Douglas Barnaby, portable television: Wayne Ruetz, electric coffee maker; Teresa Mossing, electric clock; and Mark Houston, electric fry pan.
