sd LATIN CLUB Senior and iunior members of the Latin Club followed the iniunction on the blackboard while President Jeanne Hoffmann read to the group from AUXILIUM LATINUM, a Latin monthly magazine. The Latin Club meets monthly and is under the di- rection of Sister Antony Mary. All members par- ticipated in a nation-wide Latin examination. LANGUAGE CLUBS GERMAN CLUB Agnes Heinrich's authentic Bavarian costume aroused the interest of Antoinette Erz, Francis Eibl, Tom Lorsung, Caroline Hahn, and Joyce Maiewski lbelowl at one of the meetings of the German Club. Sister M. Frances Therese guided the club in its program of movies and panel dis- cussions on every phase of German life. In November, members attended the Mil- waukee Folk Fair. They also studied the music, art, and literature of the German masters. PAN-AMERICAN CLUB On April l4, when Mrs. Charles Stoffel lseated, leftl told the club about her trip to Mexico, she wore a beautiful china poblono cos- tume which was admired by Paul Raiski, Charles Stoffel, Barbara Schneider, Charles Beck, and Judy Smith. At other semi-monthly meetings, Pan- American Club members heard speakers from the Phillipines, Puerto Rico, and Guam. A Christmas party was highlighted by a Mexican piiata, an imitation animal filled with candy, prizes, and other good things. Sister M. Verola is the advisor of the club.

Weske, Head Coach Bob Regent RIGHT OFF THE GRID Fifty-tive varsity candidates posed a problem when Coach Bob Regent and his assistants, Dick Romanski and Norm Domach, began pre-season drills. With spirits high, the Bishops looked for- ward to a prosperous season. In the first game, the Bishops lost a tough con- test to Notre Dame, while Pius and St. Catherine's also got the nod. Fighting for every yard on a slippery field was not enough when our team played the Junior Hilltoppers, who took the game at 31-0. Messmer picked on the Dons for one of their better games. After a quick touchdown by the Dons, Gene Kealty racked up an 89-yard iaunt and then scored from the 3-yard line, putting the score 7-6 in the Don's favor. The last six-and-a- half minutes proved to be fatal, four quick touch- downs provided the sudden victory for the Dons. Fumble-itis la disease which hits every team at some timel attacked the Bishops in the form of Waukesha Memorial, ending in a 19-O score.
