Reverend Ralph R. Schmit Teacher of Religion, Counselor, Director of Athletics With the welcoming of this school year, we also welcomed Father Schmit as a full-time faculty member. Messmer is by no means new to Father, he has been religion instruc- tor here since l946. Besides coun- seling and teaching, he assumed the numerous duties of atheletic director. ln this capacity Father has tried to unite the student audience with the student team members in an effort to show that both are important in this phase of devolping school spirit. We hope your stay at Messmer, Father, will be happier each year. Reverend Carroll A. Gunther Director of Religion, Teacher of Religion and Biology, Counselor A black cassock zipping through the corridor is almost surely to be that of Father Gunther, as he dashes off to one of his classes. Father's genuine interest in teaching is very evident in his excellent class work. The C.S.M.C. claims Father as its spiritual director. A man ot many accomplishments, he now gives many hours each week to his pastor- al duties as administrator of St. James parish in Mequon. There's never a dull moment in Father Gun- ther's week. 5 .Z

Reverend Joseph R. Stehling Financial Administrator Problems that would puzzle an- other man have become quite the routine for our financial man, Father Stehling. We are convinced that an exceptionally jovial spirit is Father's secret for balancing the seriousness of his position and making the two come out in a pleasant life for all of us at Messmer. Be warned: don't get in the way of Father's ready quip! Reverend James R. Daleke Teacher, Counselor Top honors for recording class activities go, without doubt, to Father Daleke. What was once a hobby has become the accepted thing in Father's English and speech classes. Many a student has over- come stage fright and hesitancy in speech because of Father's efforts and experiments. Father also teach- es classes in religion and is spiritual advisor of the Sodality. .X xi . gi WF lx , -XA my X X 5 A
