The sport, in its third year, had a turnout of l2, the largest in its short history. The clash of foils and spirited signals of the swordsmen that rang from their practice space in the offstage corridor in the auditorium were ample indication of the interest now being taken in the sport. GOLF TEAM The golf team was organized late in the school year by Coach Dermody and a few devotees of the sport. Although not many matches were played, the squad had an enjoyable time playing among themselves. The team was composed of boys from all four classes and promises great things for next year. Of this year's team Charles Stark, Ioe Austrup, Bob Miller, Ben Mayer, and Bob Shoemaker are graduating. While these boys formed the backbone of the l937 squad there are still some good golfers returning next year. Golf is one of the newer sports inaugurated at Messrner.
