THE CLARION - 1945 LOTS FERNE HAAS Lois Ferne's home is in Dryden. Michigan. but she has spent a great deal of her time in Pennsylvania -around Harrisburg and Grantham. She is a person of intellect, possesses leadership, and is faithful to what she believes to be her duty. Her deep and mellow alto voice contri- butes much to the second alto sec- tion of Ladies' Chorus, Choral So- ciety, and the College Ladies' Quar- tette. May much success be hers. MARY KATHRYN STERN Mary Kay returned to M. B. C. to take the Education course in Junior College work, and to cap- ablv fill her place as lst soprano in the College Ladies' Quartette. Her genuine and congenial spirit make her a sweet girl. She is a member of Ladies' Chorus, Choral Society, Secretary of Missionary Circle, Chairman of Athletic Coun- eil, and a member of Gospel Team. Her home is near Mill Hall, Penn- Sylvania. GULLEGE SOPHOMORES BEULAH M. KANODE Beulah is also planning to be- come a teacher, and is therefore taking the Education Course. Her home is near Martinsburg, Penn- svlvania, where she attended high school before coming to M. B. C. She is the treasurer of Mission- ary Circle, a member of Choral Society, Ladies' Chorus, and Gospel Team. Mirthfulness, modesty, and kindness characterize Beulah. We are confident that the future holds much in store for her. RUTH THEIL Ruth came to join our class last Vear from Hollywood, Maryland, and is taking the Religious Educa- tion Course. She spent the summer in Harrisburg and returned here to finish her work. She is perse- vering in her undertakings, fervent in the worship of the Master and hopes to be of service for Him some- where. She is a member of Choral Society, Ladies' Chorus, Gospel Team and the Nlissionary Circle. We wish to her much success. U95 M. EVELYN POE Evie, another of the future teach- ers of our class, comes from Cham- bersburg, Pennsylvania. She grad- uated from the Christian Training Course, and also took her high school work here at M. B. C. She is the possessor of a practical and jolly nature, whose wing of happi- ness we hope will never lose a feather, but underneath it lies a noble purpose. She is a member of the Ladies, Chorus and Choral Society and Clarion Staff. ROBERT K. WORMAN Bob, a resident of Hatfield, has returned for his fourth year here at M. B. C. He is kept busy serv- ing as President of Missionary Circle, Advertising Manager of Clarion Annual, President of L. S. A., also being a member of a Male Quartette, Nlale Chorus and Choral Society. Anyone knowing him will agree that he is a philosopher, pos- sessing the ability to think deeply. His iovialness and friendliness add much to his personality.

Vlillli C.I.An1oN -1945 Advisors and Cificers GDLLEGE SOPHOMDRES IRENE L. BISHOP irene came to M. B. C. in her College Freshman year, having graduated from Hesston. After completing the Religious Training Course, she plans to enter Goshen College, and then take the Nurses' Training Course in preparation for foreign relief work. The past sum- mer she spent in mental hospital work at Howard, Pt. I. Her many friends find that it's the sunshine and not the clouds that make her day so cheerful. VERNA E. CLIMENHAGA Verna comes from Saskatachan, Canada. She is taking the Bible Col- lege Work. She graduated from O. B. S. and also spent a year at the Eastern Mennonite School at Harrisonburg, Va. She is a mem- ber of Ladies' Chorus, Choral So- ciety, Gospel Team and Mission- ary Circle. Her life radiates the true spirit of Christ and her sin- cerity and merry disposition are truly void of veneer. ' SARAH C. BRANDT Sarah, coming from Lebanon, has spent the past two years here at M. B. C., and has taken the Social Science Course in prepara- tion for teaching history in some sec-ondarv school. She is a mem- ber of Choral Society, Ladies' Chorus, and the treasurer of the class. Sarah is studious and has as a result been repayed for her efforts. She, when you know her, is a friend worth knowing. ROBERTA E. DAYHOFF Bobbie returned to M. B. C. from Kansas City, Mo., to complete her Junior College work, taking the Science Course. She edited this year's bi-weekly Clarion, although this has been a new experience for her, she has done very well. She is of a resourceful and industrious character, possessing enthusiasm and a desire to do what her Mas- ter desires of her. C185 MARY M. BRUBAKER Marv is usually the first person you meet when you enter the Dean's office for she is his private secre- tary. She is from Grantham and is taking the Education Course, planning to teach. She is 0113 of those students who excels in her class workg being precise and CHP' able she seemingly never sees duty beyond her strength. She not only commands success and the best in life, but deserves it. ESTHER B. DOURTE Esther, our efficient editor, comeS from Manheim, Pennsylvania, where she lived and received her educa- tin till she came as a College Fresh- man to lXfl. B. C. She is taking the Education Course preparing f.0 teach elementary grades. She 15 dependable and yet likes t0 Hilfe time from her duties to shareuln the group's good time.
